The second run was scored moments later on a force play-grounder by Gregory Muller.

A double steal led to runners on second and third base, but both were left behind, as Steven van Groningen closed again with a strikeout.
With Neptunus leading 4-0, Rick Timmermans became the new pitcher for DSS/Kinheim in the fifth inning.
He gave up a lead-off double to Dashenko Ricardo, which was followed by an outfield-error.
Hereafter, he scored on a sacrifice fly by Dudley Leonora.
Neptunus continued its scoring in the next innings.
In the sixth, Joran Berkhout led off with a walk, moved into scoring position on a single by Stijn van der Meer and scored when next batter John Polonius also singled.
In the bottom of the seventh, another run was added by the Rotterdam-team.
That was done off of new pitcher Robyn Clara.
The at bat began with a hard collission in the DSS/Kinheim-defense.
Neptunus pinch-hitter Quintin De Cuba hit a pop-fly which came down between first and second base.
There, first baseman Daan Terstall was under the ball to catch.
However, third baseman (!) Bram Blokker (who had just entered the game) also ran towards the area, crashed into Terstall and fell down.
Luckily, both players sustained no injuries and were able to continue playing.
Apparently, Blokker had heard no one calling for the ball.
By the way, Terstall held onto the ball and De Cuba was out.
With two outs, Clara gave up a pinch-hit single to Jarreau Martina, who scored on a following triple by Gregory Muller and that made it a 7-0 score.
Besides making a pitching change in the seventh, DSS/Kinheim also inserted two young players, who both made their big league-debut.
Tijmen Nagel took over at second base for Thomas Bos, while Maris Crouwel became the new catcher, replacing Koen Halderman.
Crouwel is the son of the team's Head Coach and former big league-, professional and National Team-player Michael Crouwel and the grandson of former big league- and National Team-player Wim Crouwel.
Father Michael and grandfather Wim also were catchers.
DSS/Kinheim got only two basehits in this game, but was the first team to get into scoring position off of starter Kaj Timmermans.
In the top of the first inning, with one out, Jochem Koedijk and Jeldwin Orman both walked, but then were left behind.
In the second inning, the team got another scoring opportunity when Donny Kuijper doubled with one out.
He moved on a grounder, then stranded on third base.
Moments later, Neptunus opened the score in its second at bat.
In the third innng, Timmermans walked lead-off hitter Thomas Bos, but then retired the next ten batters in a row.
With one out in the sixth inning, Jeldwin Orman singled, which was to be the final basehit for the Haarlem-team.
Next batter Tommy van de Sanden walked, but a strikeout and line out ended the at bat.
From the seventh inning on, three relievers threw one inning each for Neptunus in the remainder of the game.
Berry van Driel struckout the side in the seventh, then Aaron de Groot got three outs in the eighth.
