Neptunus came alongside, then took the lead and some distance in the fourth and fifth inning.
Amongst the spectactors attending today's game was former Neptunus-player Johnny Balentina.
Since a few years, the former catcher is now coaching on Curaçao, where he also leads his own baseball-school.
Today, Balentina celebrated his 49th birthday, while his brother-in-law and Neptunus-pitcher Diegomar Markwell turned 40 today.
Neptunus-starter Orlando Yntema walked lead-off hitter Tyriq Kemp in the first inning.
He moved on a sacrifice bunt, but Yntema then struckout the next two batters.
In the second inning, Twins got a chance to do some damage, but scored only once and left three runners behind.
Shurman Marlin led off with a single and with one out, the bases got loaded when Max Kops and Diamond Silberie also singled.
Yntema followed with a strikeout, but then walked Tyriq Kemp, which gave Twins its first run.
A flyout ended the at bat and three runners stranded.
Neptunus left a runner behind on first base in the second inning, then got into scoring position in the next at bat.
With one out, Dudley Leonora reached on an error and moved on a sac-bunt, but stranded on second base.
Neptunus then came alongside in the bottom of the third.
Gregory Muller led off with a single, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Stijn van der Meer and scored on a single by Benjamin Dille.
Hereafter, the Belgian player advanced to third base on a single by Dwayne Kemp, who stole second base moments later.
With one out and runners on second and third base, the home-team got a chance to take the lead.
However, Dille was eliminated at the plate trying to score on a comebacker to pitcher Koen Postelmans by Dashenko Ricardo, who then was doubled himself at first base, which ended the inning.
After Orlando Yntema had retired the side in the top of the fourth, Neptunus scored twice in its fourth at bat.
Dudley Leonora and Shaldimar Daantji led off with singles which gave Neptunus runners on first and third base.
Hereafter, Darryl Collins also singled to bring in the go-ahead run.
After Collins had stolen second base, the bases got loaded when Gregory Muller walked.
The next run was then scored on a sacrifice fly by Stijn van der Meer, but the inning ended when Benjamin Dille grounded into a double play.
Twins got one run back in the fifth.
Mick Vos led off with a double, advanced on a grounder and scored on a sacrifice fly by Rayshelon Carolina.
Neptunus then added an insurance run in the fifth.
Dwayne Kemp led off with a single and stole second base.
When next batter Gianison Boekhoudt walked, a pitching change followed.
Koen Postelmans was relieved by rookie Drew Janssen, who made his big league-debut.
The Belgian righthander is the nephew of former Netherlands Baseball Team-Manager Steve Janssen.
Kemp and Boekhoudt then executed a double steal and when a throwing error to third base followed, the run was scored to increase the lead to 4-2.
Next batter Dashenko Ricardo was hit by a pitch and the team got runners on second and third base via a sacrifice bunt by Dudley Leonora.
Moments later, Shaldimar Daantji flied out to rightfielder Ruendrick Piternella.
Boekhoudt tried to score, but was eliminated at the plate on a nice throw by Piternella, which completed a double play.
In the top of the sixth, it was the Neptunus-defense that turned a double play and Twins left two runners behind.
But in the eighth, Twins scored another run to narrow the deficit to 4-3.
In the seventh, Elton Koeiman had taken over the Neptunus-pitching and then retired the side.
But in the eighth, he ran into problems.
Junior Martina led off with a single, then an error was made on a force play-grounder by Jason Halman.
Martina then scored on a single by Shurman Marlin.
Koeiman struckout the next batter, then was relieved by Kevin Kelly.
He got the bases loaded when Max Kops reached on an error.
The inning ended with another double play.
Neptunus failed to take some more distance in the bottom of the eighth.
Spanish righthander Javier Montero was the new pitcher for Twins in this at bat, but he gave up a lead-off single to Dudley Leonora, then walked Shaldimar Daantji.
Another pitching change was made, as Raf Cocu was inserted.
A pick-off attempt at second base ended in a throwing error and runners on second and third base.
With first base open, Darryl Collins was walked intentionally to set up a force play with no outs.
Then, a foul-out, strikeout and groundout ended the inning and three runners were left behind.
Twins got a final chance to come alongside in the top of the ninth.
With one out, Tyriq Kemp reached second base on two errors following his grounder, then moved to third base on a grounder.
After Junior Martina was hit by a pitch, the game ended when Kevin Kelly closed with a strikeout.
And that earned Kelly his league-leading third save.
