(Story by Marco Stoovelaar) Weekend-series Hoofddorp Pioniers vs. Storks postponed due to virus Nederlands HOOFDDORP (Neth.) - On Saturday-morning (August 8), it was announced that the weekend-series between Hoofddorp Pioniers and Silicon Storks has been postponed due to a case of the coronavirus. Today, the second game of the series was to be played in Hoofddorp. On Sunday, the third game was scheduled to be played at the site of Storks in The Hague. Last Thursday-evening, the series opened with a come-from-behind 6-5 win for Storks. At Pioniers, a player of its second team (which plays in the second highest league) had tested positive a few days ago. Of course, for privacy-reasons, the name of the player will not be announced. Only mild symptoms were reported, but as the player had been in contact with some players of the main-team and according to protocol-rules, Hoofddorp Pioniers decided to postpone both games for this weekend, also out of precaution. Also, both games of the second team against Twins Oosterhout 2 were cancelled. As of now, it has been reported that both teams will have no activities until at least coming Tuesday. It has not yet been announced when the games will be made up. (August 8)
