Twins Oosterhout opened the score with one run in the bottom of the first inning off of Quick-starter Jan-Willem Geerts.
The righthander gave up a lead-off single to Tyriq Kemp, who moved into scoring position thanks to a following sacrifice bunt by Mick Vos.
With two outs, Kemp scored on a single by Shurman Marlin.
Hereafter, the game turned the way of Quick Amersfoort, or so it seems.
Twins-starter Stefan Iannelli walked Rachid Engelhardt with two outs in the first inning, but he stranded on first base.
But with Twins leading 1-0, the righthander gave up back-to-back homeruns to Ademar Rifaela and Taylor Clemensia, which opened the top of the second.
With two outs, Denzel Brooks singled and stole second base for Quick, but Iannelli then closed with a strikeout.
Quick added two runs in the third inning, which were both unearned.
Lead-off hitter Emeron Lourens reached on an error.
He stole second base, moved to third on a grounder by Rachid Engelhardt, then scored on a grounder by Tijmen Takke.
With two outs, Ademar Rifaela hit his second homerun in two innings to lift the lead to 4-1.
After being retired in order in the fourth, Quick again scored twice in the fifth.
Joran Berkhout led off with a walk and this time, with one out, it was Rachid Engelhardt who homered to make it a 6-1 score.
After having opened the score in the first inning, Twins got some baserunners in the next three at bats, but was kept scoreless.
In the second, Jason Halman led off with a single, but was eliminated in a double play.
With one out in the third, Tyriq Kemp doubled and with two outs, Junior Martina singled, but they stranded on third and first base, respectively.
And in the fourth, Ruendick Piternella led off with a single, but was caught stealing.
But then, while trailing 6-1, Twins suddenly struck with a 5-run rally in the bottom of the fifth to come alongside.
Two of the runs were unearned.
Twins got the bases loaded when Brian Biezen and Rayshelon Carolina began with singles and Tyriq Kemp reached on an error.
Mick Vos followed with a runscoring single, then Junior Martina cleared the bases with a 3-run double.
Martina advanced to third base on a grounder by Shurman Marlin, then scored the tying run when a ball hit into centerfield by Ruendrick Piternella was dropped.
With the score now at 6-6, Jasper Popken took over the pitching for Quick.
Moments later, Piternella was caught stealing, but next batter Jason Halman then reached when another ball was dropped in the outfield, which was the third error in the inning.
Halman was left behind, but it was a new ball game.
Twins added a run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-6 lead.
With one out, Rayshelon Carolina tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyriq Kemp.
Quick was scoreless in the sixth through eighth inning.
In the sixth, Javier Montero took over the Twins-pitching.
He walked lead-off hitter Taylor Clemensia, but Montero then turned a double play on a comeback-grounder by next batter Rowan van Hoek.
In the seventh, Montero gave up an one-out single to Joran Berkhout.
A pick-off attempt then ended in an error, which enabled Berkhout to advance to second base, but he stranded there.
In the bottom of the seventh, Quick went to the bullpen again.
Temesh Lourens took over.
He walked Shurman Marlin with one out, but he later was left behind on second base.
With Twins leading 7-6, Raf Cocu took the mound in the top of the eighth.
Cocu would strikeout seven batters in two innings, but also ended up a the losing pitcher.
In the eighth, Cocu struckout four batters.
The righthander began with a strikeout, but then Ademar Rifaela reached on an error.
After he had moved into scoring position on a wild pitch, Cocu struckout his second batter.
Cocu then also struckout Rowan van Hoek, but strike-three was a wild pitch.
With that, Van Hoek reached first base and Rifaela moved to third base.
After Van Hoek had stolen second base, Cocu struckout his fourth batter.
In the bottom of the eighth, lefthander Jhan Rifaela became the fourth pitcher for Quick Amersfoort.
He retired the side and would become the winning pitcher moments later.
The game then turned the way of Quick again in the top of the ninth.
Cocu again began with a strikeout, but then walked Joran Berkhout.
After another strikeout, Rachid Engelhardt also walked and Tijmen Takke followed with a 2-run double to put Quick ahead, 8-7.
With first base open, Ademar Rifaela was walked intentionally, but next batter Taylor Clemensia then delivered an RBI-single to make it a 9-7 score.
Cocu closed with his seventh strikeout, but the game had turned around.
With Quick now leading 9-7, Wendell Floranus pitched the ninth inning.
With one out, he gave up singles to Mick Vos and Junior Martina.
They moved on a grounder by Shurman Marlin, but stranded on second and third base, as a flyout ended the game.
And with that, Floranus earned a save.
