At Amersfoort, reigning champion L&D Amsterdam Pirates broke a 2-2 tie with a 6-run rally in the seventh inning at Quick Amersfoort and went on to win 8-2 in an 8-inning game.
Winfried Berkvens and Richard Wessel were the umpires.
The first five innings were well balanced with good pitching from Quick-starter Brian van Laar and Amsterdam-pitchers Rob Cordemans (two innings) and Jim Ploeger (three).
Quick Amersfoort scored twice off of Cordemans in the second inning, then Pirates came alongside in the fifth off of Van Laar and his successor Amar van Zwieten.
In the bottom of the second, Tijmen Takke and Runai Coran led off with singles for Quick Amersfoort.
They then scored on a single by Taylor Clemensia and an one-out sacrifice fly by Jules Cremer.
But hereafter, Quick was held scoreless.
In the top of the fifth, Delano Selassa led off with a double, then Van Zwieten took over the pitching from Van Laar.
He got the bases loaded by walking the next two batters.
A force play-grounder by Kit Gijsbers and a single by Max Clarijs led to runs and a 2-2 score.
After rookie Matz Schutte threw a scoreless sixth inning for Pirates, his new teammates rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh which earned him the win in today's game.
Lead-off hitter and pinch-hitter Giovanny Perez reached on an error, then Rashid Gerard doubled.
Kit Gijsbers and pinch-hitter (and rookie) Jair van Borkulo followed with runscoring singles.
Still with no outs, Roelie Henrique then accounted for the highlight in the rally, but hitting a 2-run triple.
That led to a pitching change.
Jasper Popken took over, but he enabled Henrique to score on a wild pitch, making it a 7-2 score.
With Pirates now leading 8-2, Naut Kragt, another rookie, took over the Pirates-pitching in the seventh and also pitched the eighth.
Pirates added one more run in the top of the eighth.
Giovanny Perez then singled with one out and scored on a basesloaded single by Jair van Borkulo.
After having scored twice in the second inning, Quick got into scoring position three more times, but each time, a runner stranded on second base.

At Hoofddorp, at Field #2 of the Pioniers Complex, Curaçao Neptunus also came from behind and also broke a tie en route to an 8-6 win against Hoofddorp Pioniers in a 9-inning game.
André Ficken and Aad Otsen were the umpires.
Pioniers took an early 5-2 lead off of starter Diegomar Markwell (two innings) and reliever Kaj Timmermans, who threw four innings for Neptunus.
The Rotterdam-team was kept silence by Hoofddorp-starter Chris Pfau, who threw five innings.
After the lefthanded American was relieved by Lars Broersen (he threw two innings), Neptunus was more productive.
Some basehits and some errors resulted in a 6-6 tie.
In the top of the ninth, Neptunus scored twice thanks to a double by Stijn van der Meer and a single by Benjamin Dille off of Yassir Lachkar, who pitched the eighth and ninth inning for Pioniers.
Rookie Kevin Bakker, who took over from Timmermans in the eighth inning, therefore became the winning pitcher.
Berry van Driel then pitched the ninth for Neptunus to earn a save.
Outfielder Darryl Collins returned in a Neptunus-uniform today and collected two basehits.
This year, Collins was to play professionally in his second season in the organization of the Kansas City Royals.
Recently, the entire Minor League-season was cancelled.
Instead, Collins will play in the upcoming season for Neptunus, as will pitcher Jiorgeny Casimiri, who was to play in the Toronto Blue Jays-organization.
Both Collins and Casimiri have permission to play.

At Haarlem, HCAW was productive from the third inning on and led 7-3 after six innings against DSS/Kinheim.
HCAW won 9-5 in a 9-inning game.
Martijn Bosschaart and Bernard Flohr were the umpires.
In the third inning, HCAW opened the score with two runs with two outs off of starter Glenn Wassink on a double by Brennan Nijhoff and a single by Linoy Croes.
HCAW added a run in the fourth on a runscoring single by Kevin Dirksen.
DSS/Kinheim got one run back in its fourth off of starter Nick Keur, who last season played for DSS.
With two outs, the run was scored on a double by Koen Halderman.
HCAW took more distance with a 3-run fifth inning.
With two outs, Wassink was relieved by Bas Timmer, who walked two batters and gave up a runscoring single to Patrick Bok, an RBI-double to Rodney Daal and an RBI-single to Arthur Bonevacia that lifted the lead to 6-1.
In the sixth inning, an error led to another run.
DSS/Kinheim then scored twice in the bottom of the sixth off of Keur's reliever Luuk ter Beek, who threw the last five innings for HCAW.
With two outs and a runner on base, a single by Tino van Erk and a basesloaded wild pitch accounted for the runs.
In the top of the seventh inning, a familiar face pitched for DSS/Kinheim, as veteran David Bergman then climbed the mound.
Bergman, who is the team's Pitching Coach, retired the side in the seventh.
In the eighth, he gave up single to Leadro Anasagasti (also former DSS) and Berend Ruben.
But thereafter, he struckout the next two batters, then fielded a comebacker for the final out.
Bergman retired after the 2016 season, but made his comeback today, as all pitchers are currently working on pitch-counts and two other pitchers are with the second team this weekend.
HCAW added two runs in the top of the ninth off of Robyn Clara on basesloaded walks for Berend Ruben and Pascal Zegwaard.
In the bottom of the ninth, DSS/Kinheim narrowed the deficit to 9-5 by scoring a run on an error and another one on a single by Donny Kuijper.

At the Hague, an attractive game was played between Silicon Storks and Twins Oosterhout.
In a 9-inning game, Storks won 1-0 and the lone run was scored in the first inning.
Peter de Haan and Jeffrey Bentsnijder were the umpires.
The pitching of both teams was very solid, as was the defense, resulting in the lowscoring game.
,,We had good contact, hit the ball hard some times, but each time right at a player'', Twins Head Coach Jeffrey Arends looked back.
In the bottom of the first inning, Storks scored the lone run off of starter Koen Postelmans.
With one out, Stephen Henson walked, advanced to second base, moved to third on a wild pitch, then scored on a grounder by Luuk Visser.
Postelmans threw five innings, then was relieved by Pastor Enrique Martínez Chavez, who threw the next two.
Stefan Iannelli and Raf Cocu then each pitched one inning for Twins Oosterhout.
Trailing 1-0, Twins got a chance to come alongside halfway the game, but runner Ruendrick Piternella was then eliminated at the plate on a throw from the outfield.
Two Storks-pitchers held Twins scoreless.
Rookie Twan Naessens threw 4 2/3 inning, then Nick Winkel completed the game.
Naessens gave up only one basehit, Winkel gave up two.
