Nederlands
HOOFDDORP (Neth.) -
As reported earlier, the series-opener betweenHoofddorp Pioniers and L&D Amsterdam Pirates, scheduled for Thursday (August 13), has been postponed.
Over a week ago, it was reported that a player of the second team of Hoofddorp Pioniers had been tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), but luckily had only minor symptoms.
As this player also might have been in contact with players of the main-squad, Pioniers immediately cancelled last weekend's games of both the big league-team and the second team.
Following protocol-rules, tonight's game of Pioniers against Pirates was also cancelled earlier this week.
It has been confirmed that the games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday will be played.
Tonight's game will be made up coming Tuesday-evening (August 18) at the site of Amsterdam Pirates.
New dates have also been announced for the two games between Hoofddorp Pioniers and Silicon Storks that were postponed last weekend.
Saturday's game will be played on Tuesday, August 25 and Sunday's game has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, September 1.
Where these will be played is not yet known.
The main-field of Pioniers is currently being renovated and there is no light-installation at Field #2 of the complex, where the team plays is home-games.
The home-site of Storks in The Hague also has no light-installation.
With that, these games will be moved to another location, but it depends which one is available as teams use the Tuesday-evenings for practice sessions.
