DSS/Kinheim struck early and scored seven runs in the first two innings to set the tone in today's game.
The home-team opened the score with three runs in the bottom of the first inning off of starter Ronald Bloem.
Only one of the runs was earned.
Bram Blokker led off with a single, then was awarded second base when a balk was called.
With one out, he scored on a double by Jeldwin Orman, who shortly thereafter was caught stealing at third base.
But with two outs, the next six batters reached base.
Bloem got the bases loaded when he walked Kevin Nieveld and gave up singles to Wesley van Hemert and Mitchel Dautzenberg.
The latter was today's designated hitter for DSS/Kinheim and made his first start of the season after being sidelined with an injury.
With the bases loaded, it appeared that the inning would end on a following force play-grounder by Marcel Tolenaars.
However, an error was made, Nieveld scored and the bases remained loaded.
Hereafter, Bloem walked Tijmen Nagel, which led to the third run.
The inning then ended with a comeback-grounder by Nick Hofer, the ninth batter in the at bat.
Bloem fielded the ball and forced out Dautzenberg at the plate.
Storks got one run back in the top of the second inning off of starter Steven van Groningen.
The righthander walked lead-off hitter Brian van der Vlist, but followed with a strikeout.
Singles by Kelvin Knape and Jurnest Virginie enabled Van der Vlist to score.
A grounder by Nick Winkel gave Storks on runners on second and third base, but they were left behind.
DSS/Kinheim reacted with a 4-run rally in the bottom of the second inning.
Bram Blokker led off with a walk and Jochem Koedijk was hit by a pitch.
The latter was then forced out on a grounder by Jeldwin Orman.
With runners on first and third base, Kevin Nieveld delivered a runscoring single.
Blokker scored, while Orman advanced to third base.
When no action followed from the Storks-centerfielder, Orman was able to continue running and also scored a run.
Moments later, Nieveld moved to second base via a balk, then next batter Wesley van Hemert reached on an error.
An RBI-single by Mitchel Dautzenberg and a sacrifice fly by Marcel Tolenaars accounted for the next two runs and lifted the lead to 7-1.
Storks got a chance to do some scoring in the top of the third ining with it got the bases loaded.
With two outs, Ibrahin Redan reached on an error, Brian van der Vlist walked and Joost van den Bergh also reached on an error.
A force play ended the at bat and three runners were left behind.
Storks-starter Ronald Bloem retired the side in the third inning, then got only one baserunner in the fourth, but gave up two more runs in the fifth.
With one out, the righthander walked Tijmen Nagel, gave up a single to Nick Hofer and got the bases loaded when Bram Blokker also singled.
Another single followed, this time hit by Jochem Koedijk, who batted in two runs with his basehit.
Jurriaan Dijk, who was the catcher, took over the pitching for Storks in the sixth inning.
With two outs, he got two baserunners when Marcel Tolenaars was hit by a pitch and Tijmen Nagel singled.
They were left behind.
In the seventh, Dijk gave up a lead-off single to Bram Blokker (his third basehit), but then retired the next three batters (two strikeouts).
With one out in the eighth and Mitchel Dautzenberg (fielder's choice) on first base, Dijk gave up a single to Marcel Tolenaars.
The inning ended when second baseman Kelvin Knape caught a line drive from Tijmen Nagel and turned a double play.
In the fourth through sixth inning, Storks got only one runner in scoring position off of Steven van Groningen.
With two outs in the sixth, Storks got two baserunners when Jurnest Virginie was hit by a pitch and Nick Winkel singled.
Winkel is one of the pitchers of Storks (he started the second game on Saturday), but today, he started in leftfield.
Van Groningen closed the inning with a strikeout.
In the top of the seventh inning, lefthander Bas Timmer took over the pitching for DSS/Kinheim and retired the side.
The next pitcher for the Haarlem-team was Moreno Vork, who threw the eighth inning.
He gave up a lead-off double to Brian van der Vlist, who then scored on a following single by Joost van den Bergh to make it a 9-2 score.
Vork recovered and struckout the next two batters.
The inning ended with a force play-grounder from pinch-hitter Twan Naessens.
He also is a pitcher (he started the opener on Thursday), but now batted for Nick Winkel and became the new leftfielder for Storks in the bottom of the eighth.
Rick Timmermans closed the game for DSS/Kinheim by throwing the ninth inning.
With two outs, he saw Luuk Visser reach on an error.
Timmermans then gave up a single to Diornick Sanchez, another Storks-pitcher.
Sanchez, who pitched in relief on both Thursday and Saturday, but today, he entered the game as pinch-hitter for desigated hitter Ibrahin Redan in the fifth inning and was the DH in the remainder of the game.
Timmermans ended the inning and the game with a strikeout.
