DSS/Kinheim struck early, scoring six runs in the top of the first inning.
But thereafter, the scoring stopped and Storks cut the deficit in half.
Leading 6-3, DSS/Kinheim staged another rally, this time scoring five runs in the ninth inning to record a big win.
In the first inning, things went quickly for the Haarlem-team off of Diornick Sanchez, who made his first start of the season for Storks.
The righthander walked lead-off hitter Thomas Bos, then got the bases loaded when he gave up a single to Jochem Koedijk and hit Jeldwin Orman with a pitch.
The first two runners scored on a following double by Kevin Nieveld, then the third runner scored on a sacrifice fly by Aidan Finnegan.
Hereafter, Nieveld (who last season played for Storks) scored the next run when Donny Kuijper delivered a runscoring single.
A force play-grounder by Wesley van Hemert ended in an error and a passed ball gave DSS/Kinheim runners on second and third base.
With two outs, Kuijper and Van Hemert scored on a double by Bram Blokker, which lifted the lead to 6-0.
The inning ended when Bos, in his second at bat, grounded out.
Diornick Sanchez, who was left on the mound in the first inning, recovered great and added six solid innings, including two in which he retired the side.
From the second through seventh inning, Sanchez not only held DSS/Kinheim scoreless, but also gave up only three more basehits.
After being supported with a double play (which followed a walk) in the fourth inning, Sanchez gave up the first of these three hits with two outs in the fourth.
Jochem Koedijk then singled, but was left behind on first base.
The next two hits were recorded in the sixth inning.
With two outs, Bram Blokker singled.
He then tried to score on a double by Thomas Bos, but was eliminated at the plate.
In the seventh inning, Sanchez walked Jeldwin Orman with one out.
He moved on a grounder and a balk, but stranded on third base.
DSS/Kinheim-starter Glenn Wassink held Storks scoreless and hitless in the first three innings.
The righthander retired the first seven batters in a row (three strikeouts).
He then walked Kelvin Knape with one out in the third, but he was forced out.
In the fourth inning, Storks got one run back.
Jurriaan Dijk led off with a single, then Luuk Visser followed with a double.
With one out, Dijk scored on a grounder by Sergio Schoop.
After having retired the side in the fifth, Wassink gave up two more runs in the sixth.
Joel Hernandez led off with a single and Jurriaan Dijk walked.
Moments later, they respectively score on a single by Luuk Visser and a sacrifice fly by Ibrahin Redan.
Storks got another runner when Sergio Schoop walked.
Wassink followed with a striikeout and the inning ended when first baseman Aidan Finnegan caught a line drive hit by Giovanny Perez.
For Storks, the scoring ended here, while DSS/Kinheim had one more productive at bat ahead.
In the top of the eighth, Nick Winkel took over the Storks-pitching.
He also held DSS/Kinheim scoreless, but the team then struck again in the ninth.
Winkel walked Thomas Bos and Jochem Koedijk, then the first was forced out on a bunt by Jeldwin Orman.
The bases got loaded when Kevin Nieveld also walked.
Hereafter, all runners advanced on a wild pitch, resulting in a run.
Two more runs were added when next batter Aidan Finnegan singled.
That led to a pitching change.
Juriraan Dijk (who was the catcher) took over, but he also got the bases loaded quickly when he was greeted with a single by Mitchel Dautzenberg and walked Wesley van Hemert.
Nick Hofer followed with a runscoring single that kept the bases loaded.
Next, Dautzenberg tried to score on a wild pitch, but was eliminated at the plate.
In this situation, Van Hemert and Hofer both advanced and Bram Blokker then delivered a runscoring single, his third basehit of the afternoon.
That brought in Van Hemert and lifted the lead to 11-3.
With runners on second and third base, Dijk closed by striking out Thomas Bos, ending another long rally.
With DSS/Kinheim leading 6-3, Rick Timmermans took over the pitching for the team in the bottom of the seventh inning.
He retired the side (two strikeouts), then got one baserunner in the eighth.
With one out, Timmermans hit Luuk Visser with a pitch, but then was supported with a double play.
Robyn Clara closed the game by pitching the ninth inning.
He walked Brian van der Vlist with one out.
But hereafter, the defense of DSS/Kinheim turned another double play to end the game.
