Twins Oosterhout led 3-0 after two innings, but then trailed 6-3 after three at bats without giving up a basehit.
But from the fourth inning on, Twins turned the game its way again.
The game was played at the site of DSS/Kinheim in Haarlem, as the light-installation on the home-site of Twins Oosterhout is not sufficient enough for big league-games.
DSS/Kinheim got two baserunners in its first two innings off of Twins-starter Stefan Iannelli.
The righthander retired the side in the first inning.
With one out in the second, he walked Nick Hofer, but he was caught stealing.
Another walk followed for Donny Kuijper, but Iannelli then closed with a strikeout.
On the other hand, Twins Oosterhout was more productive off of starter Jelle Bing.
The righthander gave up singles to Tyriq Kemp and Mick Vos.
A strikeout and flyout followed, but then Ruendrick Piternella delivered a runscoring single.
Next, the bases got loaded when Jason Halman walked, but a force play ended the at bat.
Twins added two runs in the second inning in which the team also made an illegal change.
Rayshelon Carolina led off with a single, but he was picked-off at first base moments later by Jelle Bing.
Hereafter, Twins made an incorrect change when Nick Peels was inserted as pinch-hitter for Koen Postelmans, one of the Twins-pitchers who was listed in the starting line-up as designated hitter, batting in the number nine slot.
According to the rules, the player who is the starting designated hitter has to come to bat at least once before he can be replaced.
This was not done by Twins, as it inserted Peels before Postelmans had come to bat.
While the move is illegal, umpires and official scorers of course are not allowed to say something, as this is up to the opposing team, similar to a situation in which a batter is hitting out of order.
As the illegal change wasn't noted by DSS/Kinheim, the game continued without actions being taken.
Peels walked, then Tyriq Kemp singled.
The two advanced on a grounder, then both scored on a double by Junior Martina to put Twins ahead, 3-0.
But then the top of the third inning followed, which appeared to be disastrous for Twins.
Pitcher Stefan Iannelli was unable to find his control, walked eight batters and gave up six earned runs!
Iannelli walked the first six batters in a row.
He began with walks for Marcel Tolenaars and Bram Blokker.
Moments later, Tolenaars advanced to third base when a pick-off by catcher Jason Halman to first base ended in an error.
The bases got loaded when Thomas Bos also walked.
The three runners went on to score themselves on following walks for Jochem Koedijk, Jeldwin Orman and Kevin Nieveld.
With that, the score was now tied, the bases were still loaded, there were no outs and DSS/Kinheim had not yet recorded a basehit.
Nick Hofer then flied out to second base (no infield-fly) and Iannelli followed with a strikeout.
But hereafter, the righthander also walked Matis Crouwel and Marcel Tolenaars, which led to two more runs and a 5-3 lead for DSS/Kinheim.
It also led to a pitching change, as Iannelli was relieved by Javier Montero.
However, the Spanish righthander also began with a wak, this time for Bram Blokker, which brought in the sixth run in the inning.
With the bases still loaded, Montero closed with a strikeout, but Twins now trailed 6-3.
In the 2 2/3 inning he pitched, Stefan Iannelli threw 82 pitches (35 strikes) and walked 10 batters.
The ten walks in less than three innings are the most since Carlos Tavares walked 13 batters in 2 2/3 inning as reliever for ADO on May 21, 2011 against HCAW.
But he walked 'only' five in one inning, instead of eight, as Iannelli did in the third inning, which is a record.
The Home Plate Umpire in that game was Peter Brink, who tonight was the Technical Commissioner for the game in Haarlem.
Now suddenly trailing 6-3, Twins got an opportunity to do something back in the bottom of the third when Jelle Bing also encountered problems with his control.
With one out, he walked Jason Halman and Diamond Silberie, then got the bases loaded when Rayshelon Carolina singled.
After an infield-fly accounted for the second out, the inning ended with a force play-grounder and so, three runners were left behind.
DSS/Kinheim added a run in the top of the fourth.
With two outs, Kevin Nieveld was hit by a pitch.
He then moved to third base when Nick Hofer recorded the first basehit for the Haarlem-team.
Nieveld scored when next batter Donny Kuijper also singled.
With DSS/Kinheim leading 7-3, more free passes followed in the bottom of the fourth, which led to three runs for Twins.
The bases got loaded when Mick Vos walked, Junior Martina was hit by a pitch and (after a strikeout), Ruendrick Piternella also walked.
A sacrifice fly by Jason Halman brought in Vos.
Diamond Silberie and Rayshelon Carolina followed with runscoring singles to make it a 7-6 score.
For Carolina was this his third basehit in three consecutive innings.
A pitching change followed, as Rick Timmermans took over from Jelle Bing.
He closed the inning with a strikeout.
After a lot of traffic on the bases with a lot of free passes, both teams were retired in order in the fifth inning.
In the top of the sixth, DSS/Kinheim scored another run to take an 8-6 lead.
With one out, Jeldwin Orman hit a triple, then scored on a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the sixth, Twins turned the game around with a 4-run rally.
Shurman Marlin led off with a single and scored on a following double by Ruendrick Piternella.
With two outs, Rayshelon Carolina walked, then Nick Peels followed with an RBI-single, which brought in the tying run.
With runners on first and second base, Robyn Clara took over the pitching for DSS/Kinheim.
Carolina and Peels executed a successful double-steal.
In this situation, Carolina was able to steal the plate on the throw to second base to put Twins ahead, 9-8.
Hereafter, Peels scored the next run on a single by Tyriq Kemp, who later was caught stealing.
After DSS/Kinheim was retired in order in the top of the seventh, a long home-half followed, as Twins rallied for six runs.
Twins got the bases loaded thanks to Mick Vos (single), Junior Martina (single) and Shurman Marlin (walk).
The first two scored on a following double by Ruendrick Piternella, which led to another pitching change.
Kevin Nieveld, who was the third baseman, took over the pitching and caught a ball hit by next batter Jason Halman for the first out.
But hereafter, Nieveld gave up a 2-run double to Diamond Silberie, who went on to score himself on a following single by Rayshelon Carolina, his fourth basehit in the game.
The bases got loaded again when Nick Peels singled and Tyriq Kemp walked.
Moments later, the sixth run was scored on a sacrifice fly by Mick Vos.
The inning ended with a foul-fly.
That also ended the game.
Due to the many pitches and the many free passes, some of the at bats took awhile to complete and so, the 10:30 PM curfew-time was reached after seven complete innings.
