Amsterdam Pirates struck with a 5-run rally in the top of the first inning to set the tone in this game.
Hoofddorp Pioniers narrowed the deficit to 5-2 in the second at bat, but in the following innings, Pirates scored regularly to increase its lead.
In the first inning, Pioniers-starter Scott Prins began by striking out lead-off hitter Gilmer Lampe.
But hereafter, the righthander saw seven of the next eight batters reach base, all hitting a basehit.
With one out, Sharlon Schoop singled and scored when next batter Denzel Richardson hit his second homerun of the season.
Hereafter, Kalian Sams singled, stole second base, then moved to third when Kenny Berkenbosch flied out.
With two outs, Sams scored on a single by Rashid Gerard.
The bases got loaded when Niels van Weert and Jair van Borkulo also singled.
Roelie Henrique followed with a 2-run single that lifted the lead to 5-0 and gave Pirates runners the the corners.
The inning then ended when Henrique was caught stealing.
Pirates-starter Jim Ploeger retired the side in the first inning, but the lefthander then gave up two runs in the second at bat.
Victor Draijer and Tyler Boersma led off with singles.
The latter was forced out on a grounder by Joey Eeman.
Draijer, who had advanced to third base, then scored when a grounder by Nolan Beugeling was misplayed.
Jorrit Penseel followed with a runscoring single that made it a 5-2 score.
But Beugeling was then forced out on a grounder by Bodhi de Vreede and Ploeger closed with a strikeout.
For Pioniers, these would be the lone runs it scored in this game.
Pirates added another run in the third inning.
With one out, Kenny Berkenbosch and Rashid Gerard singled.
Niels van Weert then delivered an RBI-double.
Berkenbosch scored and Gerard advanced to third base, overran the base and was eliminated on a throw from leftfielder Joey Eeman to third baseman Max Draijer.
Pirates scored two more runs in the top of the fourth.
With one out, Gilmer Lampe doubled and then Sharlon Schoop hit his second homerun of the season.
That lifted the lead to 8-2.
After being retired in order by Scott Prins in the fifth, Amsterdam Pirates scored again off of his successors in the sixth.
Lars Broersen started the sixth for Pioniers, but he got four baserunners.
Roelie Henrique led off with a walk and the bases got loaded when Emilson Haswell and Sharlon Schoop both singled.
Haswell singled in his first at bat, as he had just entered the game defensively in the bottom of the fifth as new leftfielder and made his big league-debut.
With the bases loaded, Schoop was forced out on a grounder by Denzel Richardson.
That also led to a run and another pitching change.
Angelo Wicklert took over for Broersen.
He began with a strikeout for Kalian Sams, but then the bases got loaded again when he walked Kenny Berkenbosch.
With his next pitch, Wicklert hit Rashid Gerard and that gave Pirates another run.
With the bases still loaded, Wicklert closed with a strikeout, but the Amsterdam-team now led 10-2.
In the seventh, Wicklert was supported with a double play and then was relieved by lefthander Sebastian Kok in the eighth.
Kok, who made his first appearance of the season, walked lead-off hitter Raydley Legito, then got the bases loaded when Denzel Richardson and Kalian Sams both singled.
Hereafter, Nick Loos became the new pitcher for Pioniers.
He got a double play-grounder from Kenny Berkenbosch, but that also gave Pirates its eleventh run.
After having scored the two runs in the second inning, Pioniers was silenced in the remainder of the game.
The team got only seven more baserunners and recorded only three more basehits.
Jim Ploeger held Pioniers hitless in the third, fourth and fifth inning.
The lefthander then gave up a lead-off single to Victor Draijer in the sixth, but two flyouts and a pop-fly followed.
In the seventh, Pioniers got into scoring position for the first time since the second inning.
Jorrit Penseel led off with a single, then Ploeger struckout the next two batters.
Hereafter, he hit Nick DiBenedetto with a pitch, but Pioniers left runners on first and second base.
Matz Schutte threw the final two innings for Pirates.
With two outs, the righthander walked pinch-hitter Mark Smit and gave up a single to Nolan Beugeling.
The two advanced on a wild pitch, but stranded on second and third base.
Schutte then retired the side in the ninth and ended the game by catching a line drive by Nick DiBenedetto.
