Broersen walked lead-off hitter Coco Johnson, who stole second base with one out.
Next batter Stijn van der Meer walked, then was forced out on a grounder by Dwayne Kemp.
Hereafter, Johnson scored the tying run on a single by Dudley Leonora.
Kaj Timmermans retired the side in the second, third and fourth inning.
In the meantime, Neptunus scored in these at bats to take some distance.
In the bottom of the second, John Polonius led off with a walk.
He advanced on a single by Gregory Muller and a sacrifice bunt by Shaldimar Daantji, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Coco Johnson to put Neptunus ahead, 2-1.
Neptunus added a run in the third, got the bases loaded with no outs, but failed to add more runs.
Stijn van der Meer and Dwayne Kemp opened with singles, then Dudley Leonora followed with a runscoring double.
Hereafter, the bases got loaded when Gianison Boekhoudt was hit by a pitch.
That ended the afternoon for Lars Broersen, who was relieved by Angelo Wicklert.
On a grounder by John Polonius, the righthander was supported with a 5-2-3 double play that was started by third baseman (and Head Coach) Mervin Gario.

Now trailing 4-1, Pioniers got a chance to do something back in the top of the fifth.
After having retired nine consecutive batters, Kaj Timmermans gave up a lead-off single to Duco Nuijten, but he was forced out on a grounder by Nathan Berkel.
Pioniers got another baserunner when Tyler Boersma singled.
He played in his first game since August 22.
Boersma left the game back then with an injury and was sidelined since then with a fracture in his hand.
With runners on first and second base, the inning ended when Timmermans caught a line drive from Daan Kuit, then eliminated Boersma at first base in a double play.
Berkel stranded on second base and was the last Pioniers-runner to get into scoring position in this game.
Neptunus scored another run in the bottom of the fifth.
Dudley Leonora led off with a single, moved into scoring position on a grounder by Gianision Boekhoudt, then scored on a following single by John Polonius, who later was caught stealing himself at second base.
In its final four innings, Pioniers got only one more baserunner.

Neptunus was held scoreless in the sixth and seventh inning, but then added its sixth run in the bottom of the eighth off of new pitcher Nathan Diaby.
The righthander walked lead-off hitter John Polonius, then gave up an one-out single to Shaldimar Daantji.
The two runners advanced thanks to a passed ball, then Polonius scored on a single by Coco Johnson to raise the lead to 6-1.
Hereafter, Neptunus had runners at the corners with only one out, but no more runs were given up by Pioniers.
The two runners were left behind, as second baseman Duco Nuijten caught a pop-fly hit by Benjamin Dille, then Stijn van der Meer grounded to rookie short stop Bram Stoovelaar (who had entered the game in the previous inning), who eliminated the batter.
Misja Harcksen closed the game for Neptunus and retired the side in the top of the ninth.
Lead-off hitter Victor Draijer grounded out to short stop John Polonius, then Harcksen struckout the next two batters to end the game.
