Storks got into scoring position in the top of the first inning, but was unable to open the score.
With out, Quick-starter Jhan Rifaela walked Jurriaan Dijk and Luuk Visser, but the lefthander was then supported with a double play on a grounder by Ibrahin Redan.
Quick was more successful in its first at bat off of starter Ronald Bloem, scoring three runs.
With one out, Jordy Burger and Rachid Engelhardt singled, then the first run was scored when next batter Tijmen Takke also singled.
Taylor Clemensia followed with another runscoring single, then Amar van Zwieten added a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-0 score.
After Jhan Rifaela struckout three batters in the top of the second inning, his teammates scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the second.
Debuting Bas Wiers led off with a single in his first at bat, but then was forced out on a grounder by Denzel Brooks.
Wiers became one of the few players to make his big league-debut not in the regular season, but in the postseason.
Today, there was another player who did the same, being catcher Dick van Heesch of Twins Oosterhout.
While Wiers singled in his first at bat, this will not be counted as his first big league-basehit, as his team currently plays in the Bottom-4 Pool.
Brooks advanced to third base on a single by Joran Berkhout, then scored when next batter Jordy Burger also singled.
The run scored by Brooks was unearned, as he reached base after his at bat was extended due to a missed pop-fly in foul territory.
After Burger's hit, the bases got loaded when Rachid Engelhardt also singled.
Hereafter, Berkhout scored on a sacrifice fly by Tijmen Takke, which would have been the third out when the error on the dropped pop-fly was not made.
Burger advanced to third base on the sac-fly, while Engelhardt moved to second base on the throw to the plate.
With first base open, Taylor Clemensia was walked intentionally to set up a force play.
The inning ended with a flyout and Quick left three runners behind for the first time in today's game.
The Quick-defense made another double play in the top of the third inning.
Kelvin Knape led off with a walk, but he was back too late at first base when next batter Jurnest Virginie flied out to rightfielder Joran Berkhout.
In its third at bat, Quick left the bases loaded for the second time.
Alberto Enrique Ostos led off with a single and Bas Wiers reached on an error.
Two infield-flies followed, then the bases got loaded when Jordy Burger also got on base thanks to an error.
A flyout ended the at bat.
Storks left another runner in scoring position in the top of the fourth.
With one out, Luuk Visser was hit by a pitch, then moved when Ibrahin Redan reached on an error.
But the two runners stranded.
First, Jhan Rifaela followed with a strikeout, then Jurian Hansen was eliminated in a close play at first base.
Hansen said something and was ejected by 1B Umpire Stenar van Groningen Schinkel.
When Storks took the field in the bottom of the fourth, Hansen's ejection set a series of seven defensive changes in motion.
The lone positions that remained unchanged were the pitcher and centerfielder.
Hansen, who was the third baseman, was replaced by Twan Naessens, who became the new leftfielder.
Naessens was one of two pitchers who entered the game at this moment in another position.
The other was Diornick Sanchez, who replaced short stop Stephen Henson and became the new rightfielder for Storks.
After Quick was held scoreless in the bottom of the fourth, Storks rallied for three runs in the top of the fifth.
With one out, Kelvin Knape walked and scored on a following double by Jurnest Virginie.
The bases got loaded when Diornick Sanchez and Jurriaan Dijk both walked.
That led to a pitching change, as Jasper Popken took over from Jhan Rifaela.
He was greeted with a 2-run, ground-rule double by Luuk Visser, which narrowed the deficit to 5-3.
But hereafter, Popken retired the next two batters.
For Storks, American William Sowers took over the pitching in the bottom of the fifth inning.
He saw lead-off hitter Bas Wiers reach second base on an error, but then retired the next three batters.
In the top of the sixth, Storks was retired in order by Jasper Popken.
Moments later, Quick took more distance in the bottom of the sixth, scoring three runs.
Rachid Engelhardt led off with a single.
With one out, an outfield-error on a fly by Taylor Clemensia gave the home-team runners on first and third base.
Amar van Zwieten and Alberto Enrique Ostos followed with runscoring singles.
Hereafter, debuting Bas Wiers delivered another single and when that was followed by an outfield-error, Van Zwieten was able to score the third run in this at bat.
But Quick also stranded two more runners in scoring position.
Storks got a chance to score another run in the top of the seventh inning off of new pitcher Temesh Lourens.
He began with a strikeout, but then gave up singles to Diornick Sanchez and Jurriaan Dijk.
The two moved on a grounder, but were left behind on second and third base.
Quick scored its ninth run in the bottom of the seventh.
With one out, Rachid Engelhardt (his fourth basehit) and Tijmen Takke singled.
Moments later, Engelhardt was eliminated via a pick-off.
The team got runners on first and third base when Taylor Clemensia singled.
Takke then scored when Amar van Zwieten recorded the fourth single in a row.
Storks again got two baserunners with one out in the top of the eighth.
With one out, Twan Naessens became the second pitcher in this game with a single.
Joost van den Bergh then walked, but Temesh Lourens closed with two strikeouts.
In the bottom of the eighth, Quick got the bases loaded with no out.
Bas Wiers led off with his third basehit and reached base for the fifth time.
The bases got loaded when Jules Cremer and Joran Berkhout also singled to bring the team's total to 20 basehits.
But no runs were scored, as Wiers was forced out at the plate on a grounder by Jordy Burger, then two flyouts followed.
And so, Quick left three runners behind for the third time.
Wendell Floranus closed the game for Quick.
The righthander retired the side (two strikeouts) to end the game.
