Twins-starter Koen Postelmans started well, as the righthander retired the first nine batters he faced, including three strikeouts.
He gave up two runs in the fourth, but at that moment, his team already led 5-0.
Twins had a productive first at bat off of DSS/Kinheim-starter Bas Timmer.
The team rallied for four runs, but only one was earned.
With one out, Timmer got the bases loaded when he walked Railison Bentura, gave up a single to Diamond Silberie and also walked Shurman Marlin.
Bentura then scored the first run when a grounder by Ruendrick Piternella ended in an error.
It also enabled Silberie to score, while Marlin moved to third base.
Bentura's run was the lone earned run, as he also would have scored when Piternella's grounder would have resulted in an out at first base.
Hereafter, Piternella advanced on a wild pitch, then Jason Halman flied out, which would have been the third out.
In an attempt to eliminate Marlin at third base, a throwing error was made and so, he scored the third run.
On this second error, Piternella moved to third base, then scored on a 2-out single by Mick Vos.
Next batter Nick Peels also singled.
With runners at the corners, the inning ended when first baseman Marcel Tolenaars caught a line drive from Rayshelon Carolina.
Twins added an unearned run in the bottom of the second inning.
With two outs and Diamond Silberie (fielder's choice) on first base, Shurman Marlin singled.
Hereafter, the bases got loaded when Ruendrick Piternella walked.
Moments later, Silberie scored when a comeback-grounder by Jason Halman was misplayed.
In the bottom of the third, Twins got an opportunity to do some more scoring, but three runners were left behind.
The bases got loaded quickly when Nick Peels led off with a single, Rayshelon Carolina walked and Tyriq Kemp reached on an error.
But hereafter, Peels was forced out at the plate on a grounder by Railison Bentura and the next two batters were retired.
Trailing 5-0, DSS/Kinheim got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning.
Thomas Bos and Jochem Koedijk led off with walks and with one out, the bases got loaded when Kevin Nieveld also walked.
The Haarlem-team then scored its first run on a single by Nick Hofer and added another one on a sacrifice fly by Donny Kuijper, but two runners were left behind.

Ruendrick Piternella and Jason Halman began with walks, but hereafter, Mick Vos grounded into a 6-4-3 double play.
With Piternella on third base, Nick Peels walked and moved on a wild pitch, but a flyout ended the at bat.
In the top of the fifth, DSS/Kinheim narrowed the deficit to 5-3.
Marcel Tolenaars and Bram Blokker started the at bat with singles.
With one out, the bases got loaded when Jochem Koedijk walked.
With two outs, Tolenaars scored when Kevin Nieveld also walked.
DSS/Kinheim then left three runners behind when a flyout ended the inning.
Twins Oosterhout scored another run in the bottom of the fifth off of new pitcher Rick Timmermans.
He walked lead-off hitter Tyriq Kemp, who then stole second base, advanced on a flyout and scored on a sacfrice fly by Diamond Silberie.
Now leading 6-3, Jan Evertse took over the pitching for Twins in the top of the sixth.
The righthander made his first appearance of the season, as he had been sidelined with an arm-injury until now.
Evertse gave up one (unearned) run in the lone inning he threw, but was credited with a Hold.
Evertse clearly had to search for his control, as he walked Donny Kuijper and pinch-hitter Matis Crouwel.
But hereafter, Evertse was supported by his defense, as Marcel Tolenaars grounded into a 6-4-3 double play.
Kuijper advanced to third base and then scored when next batter Bram Blokker reached on a throwing error.
In the bottom of the sixth, Twins again stranded two runners in scoring position.
In total, the team left twelve runners behind, including nine in scoring position.
With one out, Jason Halman singled and Mick Vos was hit by a pitch.
The two advanced on a grounder, but then were left behind.
With a 6-4 lead, Raf Cocu became the third pitcher for Twins when he took over in the top of the seventh.
He gave up three runs (one earned), which turned the game to DSS/Kinheim.
Cocu got the bases loaded when he walked lead-off hitter Jochem Koedijk and then with one out also walked Kevin Nieveld and Nick Hofer.
An error on a force play-grounder by Donny Kuijper led to the first run.
With the bases still loaded, Matis Crouwel hit a sacrifice fly, which enabled Nieveld to score the tying run.
Hereafter, another error followed on a grounder by Marcel Tolenaars.
This time, Hofer scored to put DSS/Kinheim ahead 7-6.
The visiting team scored another run in the top of the eighth.
Cocu walked Thomas Bos, who moved on a sacrifice bunt by Jochem Koedijk, then stole third base and scored on a passed ball.
When next batter Jeldwin Orman also walked, Twins went to the bull-pen.
Pastor Enrique Martínez Chavez took over.
He saw Orman steal second base and move to third base on a wild pitch.
With a runner on third base and only one out, the Twins-defense then made what can be determined a crucial double play.
Kevin Nieveld hit the ball into leftfield, where it was caught in foul territory by leftfielder Shurman Marlin.
Hereafter, Orman took off trying to score, but he was eliminated at the plate, as the throw from Marlin to catcher Ruendrick Piternella was in time.
That not only ended the inning, DSS/Kinheim was held scoreless in the next at bat, while Twins turned the game around in its favor again in the bottom of the eighth.
When Shurman Marlin led off the eighth for Twins with a single, a pitching change followed.
Robyn Clara took over, but he got the bases loaded when he gave up a single to Ruendrick Piternella and walked Jason Halman.
A run was then scored when next batter Mick Vos also walked, making it an 8-7 score.
Hereafter, Clara struckout Nick Peels, but then gave up a 2-run single to Rayshelon Carolina, which gave Twins a renewed lead.
On the throw to the plate, Vos tried to advance to third base, but he was elimiated there.
The inning ended when Carolina was caught stealing, but Twins had taken the lead again, 9-8.
In the top of the ninth, Twins inserted a new catcher, as rookie Dick van Heesch took over behind the plate for Ruendrick Piternella, who moved to rightfield.
Van Heesch made his debut and is now one of a few players who made their debut in the Dutch big league, while not playing in the regular season, but instead in the postseason.
Today, there was another player who did the same, being second baseman Bas Wiers of Quick Amersfoort.
Earlier, in the seventh inning, rookie Luuk Bun had entered the game to become the new second baseman for Twins.
He also played in his first game of the season, but he already had made his debut last year.
Nick Hofer led off the ninth inning for DSS/Kinheim with a single, then Koen Halderman walked.
He had been inserted as pinch-runner for Donny Kuijper in the seventh and then became the new designated hitter.
After reaching first base, Halderman was replaced by a pinch-runner himself, as rookie Shaquille Zijlstra was inserted.
With two runners on base, Pastor Enrique Martínez Chavez faced rookie Matis Crouwel, who attempted to move the two runners with a sacrifice bunt.
He also did so while having two strikes and when his bunt ended up in foul territory, Crouwel struckout.
Hereafter, Marcel Tolenaars grounded into 6-4-3 game-ending double play.
