BUSSUM (Neth.) -
HCAW has added utility player Christopher Ge to its roster, the club announced on Friday (August 21).
Ge, who will wear number 95, will be eligible to play for the team on Saturday when HCAW plays at home against Silicon Storks in the second game of their 3-game series.
On Thursday-evening, HCAW opened the series with an 8-2 win.
HCAW also confirmed that from Saturday on, the players will wear new uniforms.
As a result, most players will now wear the uniform numbers they would originally have had on their back this season.
However, when the season opened on July 23, the new uniforms weren't available yet and therefore, most players played with other numbers.
This season, Christopher Ge planned to play in Belgium.
But due to the coronavirus-crisis, that was not possible.
From Saturday on, Ge will make his comeback in the Dutch big league.
Last year, Christopher Ge played in 18 games for Twins Oosterhout and batted .225 (9-for-40) with one double.
He scored six runs and batted in two.
In 2018, Ge also played in 18 games for the team from Oosterhout and then finished with a .234 batting average.
Amongst his eleven basehits were one double and one triple.
Christopher Ge was a regular player of Twins during the 2016 and 2017 seasons when he played in respectively 31 and 34 games.
The righthanded hitting Ge is an infielder, who mostly played at second base or at short stop.
But Twins also have used him as first baseman, in the outfield and as back-up catcher.
