It was DSS/Kinheim that opened the score today in the first inning off of Amsterdam-starter Juan Carlos Sulbaran.

A sacrifice fly by Max Clarijs accounted for the first run in the inning, a single by Gilmer Lampe for the second.
That led to the first pitching change in this inning.
Moreno Vork took over, but he also ran into problems.
First, Van Borkulo and Lampe moved on a passed ball, then Vork got the bases got loaded when he walked Sharlon Schoop.
Hereafter, the righthander gave up a 3-run, baseclearing double to Denzel Richardson, which was followed by a 2-run homerun by Kalian Sams.

The eighth run in this rally was then scored when Jair van Borkulo followed with his second single in this inning.
With Pirates now leading 13-3 and runners at the corners, a new pitching change was made.
Bas Timmer took over.
He threw only one pitch, as batter Max Clarijs opted to hit on the first pitch he saw.
But that resulted in an inning-ending flyout.

The righthander retired the side and that also ended the game via the mercy-rule.
