Like in the opener on Thursday, Hoofddorp Pioniers staged a productive rally in two innings to take an early, comfortable lead.
The team scored three runs in the first and five in the third inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Pioniers opened the score quickly off of starting pitcher Stefan Iannelli.
The righthander began the inning by walking Mark Smit and Victor Draijer.
The two advanced on a wild pitch, then both scored when a grounder by next batter Max Draijer ended in a throwing error.
Draijer ended up on second base and moved on a grounder by Tyler Boersma.
Shortly thereafter, the game was interrupted by rain and a 41-minute delay followed.
When the game resumed, Iannelli struckout Duco Nuijten, but then gave up a runscoring single to Nolan Beugeling.
In the top of the first inning, Boersma, who was the catcher, was hit on his hand by a foul ball hit by Rayshelon Carolina.
Boersma stayed in the game and completed his at bat in the bottom of the first inning, but he left the game in the top of the second, as Jaison Gijsbertha took over as catcher.
After the game, it was announced that Boersma had sustained a fracture in his hand.
Pioniers left two runners behind in the second inning.
In this at bat, Victor Draijer recorded what would be his lone basehit in the game to keep his hitting streak alive.
Pioniers then rallied for five runs on only one basehit in the third at bat.
With one out, the next seven batters reached base safely.
First, the bases got loaded.
Duco Nuijten singled, then both Nolan Beugeling and Bodhi de Vreede walked.
Four more free passes followed hereafter.
Nuijten scored when Jorrit Penseel also walked, then Beugeling scored when Raul Jacobs was hit by a pitch.
De Vreede then scored the next run on a wild pitch and the bases were re-loaded when Mark Smit walked.
Another run was added when Stefan Iannelli also walked next batter Victor Draijer.
That also led to a pitching change.
Pastor Enrique Martínez Chavez took over from Iannelli, who gave up three basehits, but also had walked eight batters.
Martínez saw the fifth runner score in this at bat, which was done on a sacrifice fly by Max Draijer.
And that made it an 8-0 score.
Martínez retired the side (two strikeouts) in the fourth inning.
With one out in the fifth inning, the righthander gave up a single to Raul Jacobs, but retired the next two batters.
Pioniers added two more runs off of Martínez in the sixth.
With one out, Jaison Gijsbertha singled.
At first base, Daan Kuit was inserted as pinch-runner for Gijsbertha, who also was injured.
In the top of the seventh, Kuit became the third catcher for Pioniers in this game.
Kuit moved to third base on a double by Duco Nuijten, then Nolan Beugeling followed with a 2-run single.
Twins got five runners into scoring position in the first six innings off of Lars Huijer.
With one out in the second inning and Ruendrick Piternella (fielder's choice) on first base, a passed ball led to the first runner on second base for the team from Oosterhout.
But hereafter, Huijer struckout the next two batters.
With two outs in the third inning, Rayshelon Carolina singled and Junior Martina was hit by a pitch.
This time, the at bat ended with a force play.
In the fourth, Huijer gave up an one-out single to Ruendrick Piternella, who later again stranded on second base.
A rare fact was recorded in the fifth inning when two Twins-batters got credited with a grounded-into-double-play.
This would result in four outs, but of course that is not possible.
Lead-off hitter Mick Vos was hit by a pitch.
He was then forced out on a following double play-grounder by Tyriq Kemp.
The ball was thrown to first base to complete a double play.
However, first baseman Duco Nuijten made an error and so, Kemp reached first base safely.
In a situation like this when the first baseman is credited with an error in a double play-situation, the batter gets a 'GDP' (grounded-into-double-play) behind his name.
According to the scoring rules, the player that makes the first out is not credited with a throwing error when he makes one in an attempt to complete a double play.
But when the first baseman makes an error, a double play could have been completed and so, a 'GDP' is recorded.
With Kemp on first base, Rayshelon Carolina grounded into a 5-4-3 double play and that resulted in the second 'GDP' in this at bat.
In the sixth, with two outs, Shurman Marlin singled and Ruendrick Piternella walked.
The two moved to second and third base on a wild pitch, but Huijer then closed with his sixth strikeout.
With Pioniers leading 10-0, the team needed three more outs to end the game via the mercy-rule.
However, Twins scored its lone run in the top of the seventh inning when Diamond Silberie led off with a homerun.
Hereafter, Twins got the bases loaded.
After Silberie's homerun, next batter Mick Vos was awarded first base on catcher's interference.
With one out, Nick Peels singled and Junior Martina was hit by a pitch, which loaded the bases.
After Martina was replaced by pinch-runner Railison Bentura, next batter Jason Halman grounded into an inning-ending double play.
Pioniers reached another 10-run difference moments later off of Jerzy van Gool, who had taken over the Twins-pitching with two outs in the sixth.
With one out, Victor Draijer walked, then his cousin Max Draijer hit a walk-off homerun.
For Draijer, this was his first homerun since July 22, 2017.
