HCAW got into scoring position in the first two innings off of Storks-starter Jayden Gonesh without hitting a basehit, but opened the score in the third.
With one out in the first inning, Berend Ruben walked, but Patrick Bok followed with a double play-grounder.
However, the double play was not completed when an error was made.
Bok advanced to second base on a passed ball, but Gonesh closed by striking out Arthur Bonevacia.
In the second inning, HCAW again got two baserunners without hitting a basehit.
With one out, Kevin Dirksen and Bob van der Meer both walked.
They advanced on a grounder by Pascal Zegwaard, but also were left behind.
In the top of the third inning, HCAW scored three runs on only one basehit.
Jayden Gonesh gave up only two basehits in the five innings he threw, but the righthander walked six batters.
With one out in the third, he walked Berend Ruben and Patrick Bok.
The two were awarded the next base when a balk was called, then both scored when Arthur Bonevacia delivered a single.
A rare situation followed, as Gonesh threw three consecutive wild pitches that enabled Bonevacia to advance to second base, then third and then home plate to score the third run in the inning.
Gonesh recovered in the fourth inning.
He then retired the side and struckout two batters.
Gonesh struckout another batter in the fifth, but also gave up a 2-out single to Arhur Bonevacia.
He stranded on first base.
In its first three innings, Storks got on base twice, both by the same player.
In the first inning, HCAW-starter Nick Keur walked lead-off hitter Joel Hernandez, but then retired the next eight batters in a row.
With two outs in the third, the lefthander faced Hernandez again.
This time, he singled, but a grounder ended the at bat.
Trailing 3-0, Storks scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Luuk Visser led off with the first homerun of the season for the team from The Hague.
Storks came close to another run in this at bat.
After Visser's homerun, Ibrahin Redan singled, stole second base and moved to third base when Joost van den Bergh also singled.
Keur then struckout the next two batters.
The inning ended when Van den Bergh was caught stealing and with that, Redan stranded on third base.
With one out in the fifth inning, Stephen Henson singled for Storks, but he was also caught stealing, this time in a rundown after a pick-off by Keur.
Storks was more successful in the sixth inning.
Veteran righthander Martin Kram took over the pitching for Jayden Gonesh and retired the side, getting three grounders.
Moments later, in the bottom of the sixth, Storks rallied for three runs to take the lead.
Nick Keur walked lead-off hitter Brian Raap, then gave up a single to Luuk Visser.
Next, a double steal was followed by a throwing error, resulting in a run and a runner on third base.
That also led to a pitching change.
Bobbie Gnade took over, but he was greeted with a runscoring single by Ibrahin Redan that tied the score.
When he also gave up a single to Joost van den Bergh, another pitching change was made.
Arij Fransen took over with runners at the corners.
He faced Rubinet Koko, who placed a successful squeeze.
His sacrifice bunt brought in Redan and gave Storks a 4-3 lead.
Van den Bergh stranded on second base.
The lead was shortlived, as HCAW answered with a 3-run rally of itself in the top of the seventh when Martin Kram also encountered some problems finding the strike-zone.
He gave up a lead-off single to Christopher Ge, who had entered the game in the bottom of the sixth as the new second baseman for HCAW.
The team got runners on second and third base when next batter Jeandro Tromp also singled.
With one out, Patrick Bok singled to bring in the tying run.
Next, the bases got loaded when Kram hit Arthur Bonevacia with a pitch.
Hereafter, Tromp was forced out at the plate on a grounder by Rodney Daal, but the bases remained loaded.
HCAW then added two runs when Kram walked both Kevin Dirksen and Bob van der Meer.
Three runners were left behind when a grounder ended the at bat, but HCAW now led 6-4.
After leaving a runner behind on second base in the eighth inning, HCAW added an insurance run in the top of the ninth.
Arthur Bonevacia led off with his third single in the game.
With one out, Kevin Dirksen walked, then an error was made on a force play-grounder by Bob van der Meer.
That loaded the bases again for HCAW.
Bonevacia then scored on a grounder by Leandro Anasagasti to make it a 7-4 score.
With HCAW leading 6-3, Arij Fransen retired the side in the seventh and eighth inning in which he struckout four batters.
With HCAW ahead 7-4, Gio de Graauw closed the game by pitching the ninth inning.
He struckout the first two batters he faced.
Kelvin Knape then singled for Storks, but De Graauw closed with his third strikeout to end the game and earn his league-leading fourth save.
