(Story by Marco Stoovelaar) Series-finale Quick Amersfoort vs. Neptunus rains out Nederlands AMERSFOORT (Neth.) - The final game of the 3-game series between Quick Amersfoort and Curaçao Neptunus, to be played today in Amersfoort on Sunday (August 23), was cancelled due to rain. A local shower hit the Amersfoort-area in the morning, which resulted in an unplayable field. The bus that carried Neptunus already was approaching Amersfoort when it was informed that the game had been cancelled. The bus then turned around to Rotterdam. The game has been re-scheduled for Tuesday (August 25). On Thursday, Neptunus rallied for four runs in the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie and went on to win 10-4 in the opener. On Saturday, Neptunus led 3-0 after three innings to take an early lead en route to a 7-1 victory. (August 23)
