Neptunus opened the score in the first inning off of Amsterdam-starter Jim Ploeger.
With one out, the lefthander gave up a single to Stijn van der Meer, who then scored when Dwayne Kemp followed with a double.
Kemp stranded on second base, but Neptunus had scored a run which turned out to be decisive.
In the next six innings, Neptunus was held scoreless, despite getting the bases loaded in the second at bat.
In the second, Dudley Leonora led off with a walk, then Darryl Collins walked with one out, followed by a single from Jarreau Martina that loaded the bases.
But hereafter, Jim Ploeger recovered and struckout the next two batters.
Collins is back in a Neptunus-uniform this season.
He was to play professionally in the organization of the Kansas City Royals, but the entire Minor League-season has been cancelled due to the coronavirus-pandemic.
He got permission to play in the highest Dutch league.
The same as pitcher Jiorgeny Casimiri (Toronto Blue Jays) and Amsterdam-pitchers Tom de Blok (Detroit Tigers) and Donny Breek (Minnesota Twins).
Ploeger retired the side in the third and fourth inning, then got two baserunners in the fifth.
After having retired eight consecutive batters, Ploeger gave up a lead-off single to Jarreau Martina in the fifth, but he was eliminated trying to advance another base after having stolen second base.

He began with a strikeout, then saw Jarreau Martina reach on an error with two outs, but he was left behind.
Last season, Schutte played in the second highest league for RCH-Pinguïns and also has played for Almere '90 Magpies in previous years.
In 2015-2017, Schutte played three seasons professionally in the organization of the Minnesota Twins.
All three seasons, he played at the Rookie League-level.
Schutte appeared in 33 games (two starts) and was 3-2 with a 4.11 ERA, before being released.

With two outs in the seventh and Neptunus still leading only 1-0, Yntema walked Gilmer Lampe, which was his sixth walk.
A pitching change followed, Kevin Kelly took over and the inning ended with a force out.
Neptunus then took more distance in the eighth inning by scoring three runs off of Schutte on two homeruns.
With one out, Dwayne Kemp homered.
Next batter Gianision Boekhoudt walked and then Dashenko Ricardo accounted for the next homerun.
Ricardo was added to the Neptunus-roster shortly before the start of the season.
