HOOFDDORP / ROTTERDAM (Neth.) -
Both games in the Top-4 Pool were cancelled on Saturday (September 26) due to rain.
In Hoofddorp, Hoofddorp Pioniers and L&D Amsterdam Pirates were to play the second game of their 3-game series.
An hour later, in Rotterdam, Curaçao Neptunus and HCAW were to face each other in what was to be the first meeting of their series.
Last Thursday-evening, Amsterdam Pirates returned to action and recorded a convincing 13-1 win in 6½ inning in the opener against Pioniers.
The opening game between HCAW and Neptunus was halted in the top of the second inning in Bussum on Thursday when a foul ball destroyed a lamp in a light-tower.
Due to debris on the field, the game was halted.
It was to resume on Friday-evening at the site of Neptunus, but then was cancelled due to rain and field-conditions.
The game will now resume coming Monday-evening in Bussum.
As both games in the Top-4 Pool were cancelled, it was possible to adjust the schedule for coming Tuesday-evening.
On that day, Pirates and Neptunus were the meet each other in the first of their two make-up games.
To keep the 3-game series between Neptunus vs. HCAW intact, today's cancelled game has been re-scheduled for Tuesday.
With that, the Pirates vs. Neptunus game has been moved to Thursday, October 8.
Today's cancelled game of Pirates against Pioniers will be made up coming Monday-evening.
Beside having to play two make-up games against Neptunus, Pirates also faces HCAW in three make-up games, starting next Thursday (October 1).
In the past weeks, at the request of Amsterdam Pirates, the team didn't play due to three positive cases of the coronavirus within the team.
Therefore, the second and third game against Neptunus (September 12-13) and the complete 3-game series against HCAW (September 17-20) were postponed.
Pirates returned to the field last Thursday-evening.
