(Story by Marco Stoovelaar) Series-opener Hoofddorp Pioniers vs. Quick Amersfoort cancelled due to field-conditions Nederlands AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - The opener of the 3-game series between Hoofddorp Pioniers and Quick Amersfoort was cancelled on Thursday-afternoon (August 27) due to the field-conditions at the site of L&D Amsterdam Pirates. As the main-field at the home-complex of Pioniers is still being worked on, the team plays its home-games in the day at Field #2 of the site in Hoofddorp. However, as that field has no light-installation, the team plays on another site when it plays at home in the evening. Tonight, the game was scheduled to be played in Amsterdam at the site of Amsterdam Pirates. While it appeared to be a dry day in Amsterdam, the game was cancelled around 3 PM, as the field had become unplayable due to a short, but heavy local rain-shower earlier in the day. In the remainder of the day and in the evening, it stayed dry. The game is re-scheduled for Friday-evening (August 28), but then at the site of DSS/Kinheim in Haarlem. (August 27)
