Jhan Rifaela, the lefthanded starter for Quick Amersfoort, retired the side in the top of the first inning.
He walked Donny Kuijper with two outs in the second at bat, but he was left behind on first base.
Quick then opened the score in the bottom of the second inning.
DSS/Kinheim-starter Glenn Wassink got one baserunner in the first inning.
With two outs, he gave up a single to Rachid Engelhardt, but he also stranded on first base.
Quick then scored its first run in the next at bat.
Taylor Clemensia led off with a double, but then was unable to advance on two following grounders to short.
With two outs, he scored on a single by Jules Cremer.
In the next two innings, Quick was retired in order by Wassink, while DSS/Kinheim came alongside.
The team first left a runner behind in the third.
With two outs, Bram Blokker walked and Jochem Koedijk was hit by a pitch.
But they stranded.
DSS/Kinheim then came alongside in the top of the fourth.
Kevin Nieveld led off with a walk, but Jhan Rifaela followed with a strikeout.
The lefthander then got the bases loaded when Donny Kuijper and Aidan Finnegan both singled.
Hereafter, Nieveld scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Marcel Tolenaars, but the other two runners were left behind on first and third base.
For DSS/Kinheim, this would be its lone run.
The team got several baserunners in the remainder of the game, but was unable to bring them across the plate.
In the top of the fifth, Bram Blokker led off with a walk and Jeldwin Orman walked with one out.
A strikeout and flyout followed.
Quick then broke open the game with a 3-run rally in the bottom of the fifth.
Bas Timmer started the inning in relief for Glenn Wassink, but the lefthander ran into problems quickly.
He gave up a lead-off single to Rowan van Hoek, then walked Jules Cremer.
Denzel Brooks then reached on a bunt-single, but that was followed by a throwing error that enabled Van Hoek to score and Cremer to advance to third base.
After Brooks had stolen second base, Joran Berkhout delivered a 2-run single.
After having faced four batters, Timmer was relieved by Joeri Kesseler, who made his big league-debut.
The righthander got a force play-grounder from Jordy Burger, who later was left behind on third base.
Now with a 4-1 lead, Jhan Rifaela struckout three batters in the top of the sixth, but also gave up a single.
With two outs, he gave up a single to Marcel Tolenaars, then followed with his third strikeout, which was his seventh in the game.
In the top of the seventh, DSS/Kinheim got the bases loaded with two outs.
Rifaela first struckout his eighth batter, then got a grounder.
With two outs, he hit Jeldwin Orman with a pitch and was relieved by Temesh Lourens.
He was greeted with a single by Kevin Nieveld, saw the runners advance on a wild pitch, then got the bases loaded via a walk for Nick Hofer.
With the bases loaded Lourens closed with a strikeout.
For DSS/Kinheim, Moreno Vork took over the pitching in the sixth.
He walked lead-off hitter Taylor Clemensia, but he was forced out on a grounder by Emeron Lourens, who later stole second base.
Lourens stranded there, as Vork followed with a strikeout, then a flyout ended the at bat.
Quick took more distance in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Moreno Vork got two quick outs (one strikeout), but then ran into problems.
With two outs, Jordy Burger singled, then Rachid Engelhardt homered.
Hereafter, pinch-hitter Amar van Zwieten doubled and then it was Taylor Clemensia, who connected for a 2-run homerun.
And that lifted the lead to 8-1.
For both Engelhardt and Clemensia this was their third homerun in the Bottom-4 Pool.
Rick Timmermans threw the eighth inning for DSS/Kinheim and retired the side.
In the top of the eighth, Marcel Tolenaars singled for DSS/Kinheim with one out, but was forced out on a grounder by Matis Crouwel.
The latter then stranded on first base.
In the top of the ninth, DSS/Kinheim faced Wendell Floranus.
He walked lead-off hitter Jochem Koedijk, but then struckout the next three batters to end the game.
With that, Floranus not only closed the game, he also had a strong final performance for Quick, as this was his last game of the season for the Amersfoort-team.
Floranus will travel to the Dominican Republic coming week to play professionally there.
