Opener Hoofddorp Pioniers vs. Quick Amersfoort rains out again
Nederlands
HAARLEM (Neth.) -
The make-up game between Hoofddorp Pioniers and Quick Amersfoort was cancelled again on Friday-evening (August 28) due to heavy rain.
The opener of the 3-game series was initially scheduled for Thursday-evening (August 27) at the site of L&D Amsterdam Pirates.
However, while it appeared to be a dry day in Amsterdam, the game was cancelled around 3 PM, as the field had become unplayable due to a short, but heavy local rain-shower earlier in the day.
The game was re-scheduled for tonight at the site of DSS/Kinheim in Haarlem.
Some one-and-a-half-hour before the game was scheduled to start, there was a heavy rain-shower, making the field of the Pim Mulier Stadium unplayable.
Shortly thereafter, the game was cancelled.
The game, which is a home-game for Pioniers, is now re-scheduled for coming Monday-evening, this time at the site of opponent Quick Amersfoort in Amersfoort.
As the main-field at the home-complex of Pioniers is still being worked on, the team plays its home-games in the day at Field #2 of the site in Hoofddorp.
However, as that field has no light-installation, the team plays on another site when it plays at home in the evening.
