At Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Washington Nationals visited St. Louis Cardinals and lost 6-3.
Carter Kieboom was the starting third baseman for Washington and was 0-for-1, but he walked twice and scored a run.
In the top of the second inning, Kieboom led off with a walk, but then was eliminated in a double play.
Moments later, St. Louis opened the score on a lead-off homerun by Paul DeJong in the bottom of the second inning.
In the fourth inning, Kieboom struckout.
In the next at bat, St. Louis took some more distance by scoring two runs.
Trailing 3-0, Washington came alongside in the top of the seventh and that started with Kieboom.
Facing new pitcher Jake Woodford, Kieboom led off with a walk, then scored when next batter Luis García homered.
Hereafter, Jake Noll doubled and scored the tying run on a 2-out single by Brandon Snyder.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Jacob Wilson replaced Kieboom as new third baseman.
In that at bat, St. Louis re-took the lead by scoring three runs.
