Hoofddorp Pioniers-starter Lars Broersen retired the side in the top of the first inning, then was supported with a run in the bottom half of the inning.
Quick Amersfoort-starter Jhan Rifaela walked lead-off hitter Nathan Berkel.
He moved into scoring position on a grounder by Victor Draijer and a single by Max Draijer.
In a double-steal situation, Berkel scored and Draijer moved to second base, but he was left behind there.
Quick got a chance to come alongside in the second inning.
With one out, Tijmen Takke singled and with two outs, Taylor Clemensia walked, but a force play ended the at bat.
Rifaela retired the side in the second inning, but the lefthander gave up another run in the third at bat.
Again, he walked the lead-off hitter.
This time, that was Raul Jacobs, who advanced on a wild pitch.
With one out, Victor Draijer also walked, then Max Draijer again singled.
That enabled Jacobs to score the second run for Pioniers.
The defense of Pioniers turned a double play in the third inning, then Quick got a runner on third base in the fourth.
With one out, Bryan Engelhardt singled, stole second base and moved to third base on a wild pitch, but also was left behind.
In the fourth inning, Pioniers got another runner in scoring position when Jorrit Penseel doubled with two outs, but he stranded on second base.
With one out in the fifth, Jules Cremer walked for Quick, then Jordy Burger singled.
They respectively were left behind on third and first base.
In the bottom of the fifth, Pioniers scored another run.
With one out, Victor Draijer singled to extend his hitting streak since the start of the season to sixteen games.
The bases got loaded when Jhan Rifaela walked Max Draijer and Joey Eeman.
That led to a pitching change.
Jasper Popken took over and got a grounder from Duco Nuijten.
On this grounder, Eeman was forced out, but Victor Draijer scored.
With Max Draijer at third base, Nuijten stole second base, but a foul-fly then ended the at bat.
With Pioniers leading 3-0, Angelo Wicklert became the new pitcher for Pioniers in the top of the sixth.
He walked the first three batters, but avoided giving up runs.
The righthander first walked Rachid Engelhardt, then his brother Bryan Engelhardt.
The first Engelhardt stole third base and moments later, the second Engelhardt was caught stealing at second base.
Now with one out and a runner on third base, Tijmen Takke walked.
Wicklert recovered anf struckout the next two batters.
Quick got into scoring position again in the top of the seventh, but again was held scoreless.
With one out, Jordy Burger walked and advanced to third base on a single by Roger Bernadina.
The next two batters were eliminated.
In the bottom of the seventh, Pioniers scored its fourth run after the team had left three runners behind in the previous at bat.
In the sixth, Jaison Gijsbertha and Jorrit Penseel singled and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Raul Jacobs.
With two outs and first base open, Victor Draijer was walked intentionally by Jasper Popken, who then closed the at bat by striking out Max Draijer.
In the seventh, Temesh Lourens became the new pitcher for Quick.
He walked lead-off hitter Joey Eeman, but he was forced out on a following grounder by Duco Nuijten.
Lourens then hit next batter Bodhi de Vreede with a pitch.
He was then replaced by pinch-runner Daniel Heiligers, who played in his first game for Pioniers.
Last year, he played in 15 games for DSS, but transfered to Pioniers after the season.
In a double-steal attempt, Nuijten was eliminated, but Heiligers reached second base safely, then scored on a following single by Jaison Gijsbertha to make it a 4-0 score.
In the bottom of the eighth, Pioniers got another scoring opportunity.
With two outs, Victor Draijer was hit by a pitch and reached base for the fourth time.
Max Draijer followed with his third basehit in the game and also reached base for the fourth time.
But Lourens closed the at bat by striking out Joey Eeman.
Nathan Diaby pitched the final two innings for Pioniers.
He walked lead-off hitter Bryan Engelhardt in the eighth inning.
The veteran player stole both second and third base, but then was left behind.
With that, Engelhardt stole three bases tonight.
It was the first time since July 21, 2011 that Engelhardt stole three bases in one game.
Back then, he played for Kinheim and accomplished the feat against HCAW.
His brother Rachid Engelhardt then was the catcher for HCAW.
In the top of the ninth, Quick got its final baserunner in scoring position.
Jules Cremer led off with a single and advanced on an one-out single by Roger Bernadina.
But a foul-fly and grounder then ended the game.
