(Story by Marco Stoovelaar) Three games cancelled due to rain Nederlands HOOFDDORP / AMERSFOORT / AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - Three games in the Dutch big league were cancelled on Saturday (May 8) due to weather conditions. Silicon Storks and Twins Oosterhout were able to play today's lone game in The Hague, but that started almost two hours later than scheduled. The three cancelled games have been re-scheduled for coming Tuesday-evening. It marks the second time in two weeks that three games were cancelled due to rain and field-conditions. Last week, in the Opening Series of the new season, three games rained out on Opening Night (Thursday, April 29). These were re-scheduled to the next day, but one of the games rained out again and was made up last Monday. Today, there was sometimes steady rain in the morning and early afternoon in mostly the western part of the country. The first game to be scrubbed was the meeting between Hoofddorp Pioniers and DSS/Kinheim in Hoofddorp, which already was cancelled before its scheduled game time of 2 PM. The other three games were postponed, but two of them were eventually also cancelled. Around 2:20 PM, the game between Quick Amersfoort and Curaçao Neptunus in Amersfoort was cancelled. And around 4 PM, it was decided that the game between L&D Amsterdam Pirates and HCAW also would not begin. (May 8)
