Parma took an early lead, scoring a run in the first and third inning.
In the top of the first inning, off of starter Tiago Da Silva, Parma scored its first run with two outs.
Stefano Desimoni singled with one out, but was forced out on a grounder by Manuel Joseph Timo.
The Dominican stole second base, advanced when a throwing error followed and scored on a single by Alberto Mineo.
Joseph played professionally in the Minor League for Detroit Tigers (2012-2014).
After having played in the Colombian Baseball League, Joseph last year went on to play for Collecchio in Italy.
During this years European Champions Cup-tournament in Germany, Joseph belted three homeruns.
One of them in the Final against L&D Amsterdam Pirates when he also had two doubles and batted in three runs.
With Parma trailing 6-4 against Pirates, Joseph homered in the seventh inning, then batted in two runs with a double in the eighth that gave Parma a 7-6 victory.
Afterwards, the Dominican was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Parma doubled its lead in the top of the third when Stefano Desimoni led off with a homerun.

San Marino got its first runner in scoring position off of Diego Fabiani in the second inning, but with runners at first and second base, but the righthander closed with a strikeout.
San Marino came alongside in the bottom of the third inning.
José Ferrini Colmenarez led off with a single and with one out, the team got runners on first and third base when Oscar Angulo Gamez also singled.
Both scored when Gabriel Lino Correa followed with a double and that made it a 2-2 score.
In the top of the fourth, Parma struck with a 5-run rally with two outs.
Four of the runs were unearned, the fifth was team-unearned.
With one out, Exequiel Talevi reached on an error.
Talevi comes from Argentina, who has played for the Argentinian National Team since 2013.
Riccardo Flisi followed with a double and with first base open, Aldo Koutsoyanopulos was walked intentionally.
The latter was born in the USA, has a Greek father and Italian mother and plays for Parma since 2018.
In that year, he participated with the Italian National Team in the Super6 in Hoofddorp (Netherlands).
With three runners on base, Tiago Da Silva followed with a strikeout.
But the 37-year old Brazilian-born Da Silva then gave up a 2-run single to Manuel Joseph Timo, which put Parma ahead, 4-2.
That led to a pitching change.
Gabriele Quattrini took over and issued an intentional walk to Alberto Mineo, which loaded the bases for the second time to set up a force play.
But again, the force play-grounder didn't come.
Instead, Cuban Noel Gonzalez Sanamé drilled the ball into centerfield for a baseclearing, 3-run triple.
Quattrini closed with a strikeout, but Parma now led 7-2.
San Marino also appeared to have a productive fourth at bat, but scored only once and left three runners behind.
With one out, Italian/Dominican Nathanael Batista De Jesus walked and Venezuelan Erick Epifano Duran followed with a single.
That was the signal for Parma to also go to the bullpen.
Mattia Aldegheri took over and got a flyout.
With two outs, San Marino got the bases loaded when Aldegheri walked José Ferrini Colmenarez and Federico Celli, which led to a run.
But he then closed with a strikeout and three runners were left behind.

Parma added two runs in the top of the sixth off of new pitcher Eduardo Peluso Rodriguez.
The lefthanded Venezuelan gave up a lead-off single to Stefano Desimoni, then walked Manuel Joseph Timo.
Peluso followed with a strikeout, but thereafter, Noel Gonzalez Sanamé delivered a runscoring single.
The second run in this at bat was then scored on a sacrifice fly by Alex Sambucci.
When Peluso walked the next batter, he was relieved by Luca Di Raffaele, who got an inning-ending flyout.
Parma took more distance by scoring four more runs in the top of the seventh.
Di Raffaele got the bases loaded quickly when he hit lead-off hitter Riccardo Flisi with a pitch, Aldo Koutsoyanopulos Vitti walked and Stefano Desimoni singled.
The first two then scored on respectively a single by Manuel Joseph Timo (who batted in his fifth run) and a walk for Alberto Mineo.
With the bases still loaded, Noel Gonzalez Sanamé hit the ball into rightfield for what became a sacrifice fly.
However, a missed catch followed, meaning Gonzalez also reached base.
Desimoni scored, but Joseph was eliminated at the plate when he tried to score on the error.
With runners on second and third base, René Mazzocchi became the new pitcher.
He was greeted with a sacrifice fly from Alex Sambucci.
That brought in the fourth run in this at bat and lifted the lead to 13-3.
In the bottom of the seventh, San Marino managed to get one run back.
Mattia Aldegheri walked the first three batters he faced, but then Gabriel Lino Correa grounded into a double play, which led to a run.
A flyout then ended the game.
With that, both teams had won once in the Italian Baseball Series, which continues on Monday with Game 3 in Parma.
