In today's game, it was Sparks Haarlem that took the first lead, but it was very brief.
The team opened the score with one run in the top of the first inning.
For Sparks, this would be its lone run in the game.
Storks reacted with three runs, added five more in the second at bat and went on to record a 12-1 victory in a 6½ inning mercy-rule game.
With one out in the top of the first inning, Wessel Pirovano singled for Sparks Haarlem off of Mike van den Berg.
Next batter Ruben Hoek reached on an error and Pirovano then scored when Kevin Nieveld also delivered a single.
With runners on first and third base, Jerry Zonneveld hit a line drive, but that was caught by short stop Kelvin Knape.
But with two outs, Sparks got the bases loaded when Duko Jansen walked.
However, the Haarlem-team was unable to do some scoring, as a grounder ended the at bat.
In the remainder of the game, Sparks got some more baserunners, but the Storks-defense prevented them from getting into scoring position.
In the third inning, Sparks got two baserunners, who both were forced out at second base.
In the fifth inning, the same happened.
Coincidentally, it were the same runners that were forced out at second base both times, Pirovano and Hoek, who were more successful in the first inning.
In the top of the sixth, Sparks got its first two batters on base when Jerry Zonneveld and Duko Jansen both singled.
This was the first time that a runner got into scoring position since the first inning.
But a double play and groundout followed.
Sparks got a runner on third base in the seventh, but he stranded there.
Storks had a productive afternoon at its home-site in The Hague.
Trailing 1-0, the team immediately turned the game around in the bottom of the first inning off of starter Mees de By.
With one out, the righthander gave up a double to Raibiently Mercalina and a single to Kevin van Veen.
The first scored the tying run on a following sacrifice fly by Edvin Yrausquin.
With two outs, Sigmar Eustacia hit the ball over the leftfield-fence for a 2-run homerun to put Storks ahead, 3-1.
From the second inning on, Storks expanded its lead and went on record a mercy-rule run-difference.

In the second, five runs were added.
Storks got the bases loaded when Khirstan Gibbs led off with an infield-hit and next batters Twan Naessens and Jurian Hansen both walked.
Raibiently Mercalina followed with an RBI-single, which kept the bases loaded.
With one out, Edvin Yrausquin contributed with a 2-run single and two more runs were added on following singles by Sigmar Eustacia and Kelvin Knape.
A double play ended the at bat, but Storks had taken a comfortable 8-1 lead.
After being retired in order in the third inning, Storks got the bases loaded again with one out in the fourth.
Raibiently Mercalina led off with a double and with one out, Edvin Yrausquin and Sigmar Eustacia both singled.
Again, the Sparks-defense turned a double play to end the inning.
But in the fifth inning, Storks added three more runs.
With two outs, Twan Naessens singled and Jurian Hansen doubled.
Hereafter, Raibiently Mercalina delivered his third double in the game and batted in both runners.
A pitching change followed and Joffrey Heus took over.
He gave up a runscoring single to Kevin van Veen.
That brought in Mercalina, who scored his third run and lifted the lead to 11-1.
Storks scored another run in the bottom of the sixth.
Sigmar Eustacia led off with a double.
With one out, he moved to third base on a single by Shurensley Daantji, who himself was eliminated at second base when he tried to advance on the throw to third base.
With two outs, Eustacia scored the twelfth Storks-run on a single by Khirstan Gibbs.
In the top of the seventh inning, Jesse van de Berg hit a triple for Sparks with one out.
Mike van den Berg, who went the distance for Storks, then struckout the next two batters to close the game.
