Pilot-Pool: Series-opener Sparks Haarlem vs. RCH-Pinguïns rains out
Nederlands
HEEMSTEDE (Neth.) -
The opening-game of the 3-game series between Sparks Haarlem and RCH Memorie Sieraden in the Major League/First Division Pilot-Pool was cancelled on Thursday (September 8).
The game was a home-game for Sparks Haarlem, but was to be played in the evening at the site of RCH-Pinguïns in Heemstede, as there is no light-installation at its own site.
The game was cancelled in the afternoon as the field had become unplayable due to several rain-showers.
The game will be made up coming Tuesday-evening (September 13) in Heemstede.
Due to the cancellation, the announced rotations of starting pitchers probably will be adjusted for the coming days.
Although weather predictions stated on Wednesday that there was a 70 percent chance of (thunder)showers, three other games could be played as scheduled tonight.
Two of them in the Pilot-Pool, the other one the opener in the best-of-seven Holland Series.
In the Pilot-Pool, Quick Amersfoort won 12-8 against the second team of Twins Oosterhout and UVV recorded a big 16-2 win against Silicon Storks.
HCAW opened the Holland Series with a 5-4 victory against Curaçao Neptunus in Rotterdam.
