Outfielder Urving Kemp transfers from Twins Oosterhout to DSS/Kinheim

DSS/Kinheim announced its third new player for the 2023 season.
On Tuesday (November 8), the Haarlem-club confirmed that outfielder Urving Kemp comes to play for them.
In the previous seasons, Kemp has played in the highest league for Twins Oosterhout, Curaçao Neptunus and Mampaey The Hawks.
On Sunday, the club announced that young infielder Amarensio Franka, who comes from Neptunus Tridents, was added to the roster.
The next day, DSS/Kinheim announced that righthanded pitcher and former pro Donny Breek, who played for L&D Amsterdam Pirates, also will play for the team in the new season.

On October 27, DSS/Kinheim announced that Etienne Meijer was named the new Head Coach of the team.
He succeeds Michael Crouwel, who retired after the season had ended.
The transfer-period ends on November 15.
In DSS/Kinheim's announcement of the addition, Urving Kemp is quoted:

Urving Kemp is the brother of longtime Neptunus-infielder Dwayne Kemp.
This season, he was a teammate of his other brother Tyriq Kemp at Twins Oosterhout, which was coached by their father Adonis Kemp.
After the season, Twins and Adonis separated and last month, Tyriq tranfered to Neptunus.
Urving Kemp made his big league-debut in 2011 when he played in eleven games for Neptunus.
He then batted 3-for-15 (.200) with one double, scored three runs and also batted in three, while walking four times.
In the 2012 season, Kemp again was a back-up player for Neptunus, appearing in ten games for the Rotterdam-team.
He then batted 2-for-23 (.087), scored five runs and batted in one.
Kemp also played in two games for Neptunus during the Holland Series in which the team was swept in four games by Kinheim.
After the 2012 season, Urving Kemp transfered to Mampaey The Hawks.
The team made is debut in the highest division in 2013 and Kemp was a regular player, playing in all 42 games.
Kemp was the team's best hitter with a .317 batting average (46-for-145).
He also lead the team with 46 basehits, 14 doubles, two triples, 20 runs scored and 24 walks and was fourth with 14 runs batted in.
Neptunus then got Kemp back after the 2013 season.
In 2014, the outfielder played in 34 games and batted .252 with five doubles.
He scored 20 runs and also batted in 20.
His ten stolen bases were second-best in the team.
In the Holland Series won against Amsterdam Pirates, Kemp played in one game, getting two plate appearances.
Urving Kemp also was a regular player for Neptunus in the 2015 season.
He then batted .304 with 35 basehits and seven doubles in 33 games, scoring 35 runs and batting in seventeen.
This time, he played in all five Holland Series-games for Neptunus, which then won against Kinheim.
In 2016, Kemp had a lesser season offensively, hitting only .186 for Neptunus in 31 games.
The next year, the outfielder played in only seventeen games for the Rotterdam-team, hitting .262.
Kemp then didn't play in the highest league in 2018 through 2020, but returned during the 2021 season when he played for Twins Oosterhout, alongside his brother Tyriq Kemp.
In his comeback-season, he batted .125 (6-for-48), scored five runs and batted in one.
This year, he was a regular player again and batted 25-for-120 (.208) with three doubles, one triple, one homerun (his first in the big league), 19 runs scored and eight runs batted in.
With Twins, Kemp played in the Play-Offs in the second consecutive year.
