The scoring today was done in the beginning and the end of the game.
Home-playing RCH-Pinguïns scored five runs in the first two innings, visiting Sparks Haarlem scored its three runs in the ninth at bat.
The home-team scored its first (unearned) run in the bottom of the first inning off of Sparks-pitcher Mees de By, who went the distance.
The righthander began with a strikeout, but then walked Jesse Aussems and Yurdion Martie.
After a flyout accounted for the second out, the inning appeared to end when Tilsaimy Melfor hit a grounder.
However, a throwing error followed and Aussems scored from second base.
RCH then rallied for four runs in the second inning.
Geoffrey Verhoef led off with a double and moved to third base on a passed ball.
With one out, Paris Aguilera Zayas walked and Thomas Kwakernaak added a runscoring single.
More productive at bats followed.
With runners on first and second base, Jesse Aussems hit an RBI-double, Yurdio Martie hit a sacrifice fly and Leandro Anasagasti also delivered a runscoring double.
And that lifted the lead to 5-0.
Tilsaimy Melfor accounted for the fifth basehit in this inning, but Mees de By then closed with a strikeout.

From the third inning on, De By recovered and threw six solid innings.
He allowed only five more batters to reach, but furthermore, he kept RCH scoreless in the remainder of the game.
From the fourth inning on, De By retired ten batters in a row.
Only one more RCH-runner got into scoring position in the final six at bats.
That was in the bottom of the eighth.
Pinch-hitter Daan Groenewoud led off with a single, but was forced out on a grounder by Geoffrey Verhoef.
The latter moved to second base on a grounder by Sebastiaan van der Horst, but was left behind.
And so, the ninth inning began with a 5-0 lead for RCH-Pinguïns.
But then, the suspense came back.
Sparks Haarlem faced Jeremy Young.
The team got three runners in scoring position in the first eight innings and all three reached third base.
There were three runners in the top of the first inning.
Lead-off hitter Jesse van de Berg was hit by a pitch, but was caught stealing.
With two outs, Young gave up singles to Ruben Hoek and Joffrey Heus, which led to runners on first and third base.
But the Australian righthander closed with a strikeout.
In the fourth, Young was supported with a double play, but he then got another runner on third base in the fifth.
Yasar Guntekin and Siebe van Pelt led off with singles, which gave Sparks again runners at the corners.
But they were left behind, as Young retired the next three batters.
Not only that, he retired nine consecutive hitters.
In the top of the eighth, new pitcher Joel Martis walked lead-off hitter Jesse van de Berg, but again, he was caught stealing.
A flyout and strikeout ended the at bat.
But then, Sparks Haarlem came back.
With two outs, the team scored three runs and even got a chance to come alongside without hitting a basehit.
Joffrey Heus led off with a walk, but Martis followed with a strikeout.
Hereafter, Calvin Semeleer walked, but again, Martis followed with a strikeout.
With two outs, Sparks got the bases loaded when Yasar Guntekin also walked.
Heus then scored when Siebe van Pelt received the fourth walk in this at bat from Martis.
When next batter Jesse van de Berg also walked, it led to the second run, but also a pitching change.
With RCH still leading 5-2, but the bases still loaded, Nick Andringa took over the pitching.
Moments later, Guntekin scored on a passed ball.
With runners on second and third base, the tying run was now standing on second base.
But the game then ended when Andringa closed the inning and the game with a strikeout.
