Also today, it was announced that Jasper de Jong has been named the new Head Coach of Hoofddorp Pioniers. There, he succeeds, Mervin Gario, who recently stepped down and became the new Head Coach of L&D Amsterdam Pirates four days ago. Gario succeeds Ronald Jaarsma, who stepped down due to busy work commitments after having led the team for one season.

Kemp is one of five coaches who will not return with their team next season. Besides Kemp, Jaarsma and Gario, Michael Crouwel and Nick Heij also will not return at respectively DSS/Kinheim and RCH Memorie Sieraden. Crouwel already had announced his retirement before the start of the season. Heij will step down after RCH completes its series of games in the Major League/First Division Pilot-Pool.

This season, Adonis Kemp led the Twins-team to the Play-Offs. In that best-of-five, the team was swept in three games by Curaçao Neptunus.

At its website, Twins Oosterhout announced:
,,In August, Oosterhout Twins was eliminated in the play-offs by Neptunus, after Oosterhout Twins had previously finished fourth in the first half of the season. An excellent performance, which was accomplished only for the second time in the history of the club. At the same time, the second team performed excellently in the First Division, where it came close to becoming the champions and later showed excellent results against major league teams. These achievements forced the club to choose direction about the future.

After careful consideration, chairman Kjeld Boerendonk has decided to supplement the strength of the 2022 main-team next season with a core of youth players from the second team who are ready for or can develop to the level in the highest league.

In mutual consultation with head coach Adonis Kemp, it has been determined that he will not continue as the person responsible for the big league-team of Oosterhout Twins. The club is grateful for the effort and experience that Adonis Kemp has brought over the past two seasons and wishes him every success in any new challenge in Dutch baseball.

Until the transfer date on November 15, 2022, the top sport committee will be working to register strong teams in both the big league and first division. The goal of the big league team remains to make it to the play-offs in 2023 as well.''

Last season, Adonis Kemp was the 3B Coach in the staff of Head Coach Jeffrey Arends, who this year served as Bench Coach. Earlier, Kemp was the Head Coach of Euro Stars and Tridents (second team of Neptunus) in the First Division. Kemp also has been the Head Coach of the big league-team of Sparta-Feyenoord (2007). Thereafter, the former outfielder was a member of the coaching-staff of Neptunus for five years (2008-2012), where he assisted Head Coaches Eric de Bruin, Steve Janssen and Jan Collins.

Adonis Kemp played in 15 seasons in the Dutch big league. The outfielder played three big league-seasons for Sparta (1987; 1989-1990), four for ADO (1991-1994), five for Neptunus (1995-1999) and then three more for ADO (2000-2002), before retiring. In the 1994 season, Kemp hit the most homeruns. He won three Championship-titles with ADO (1992) and Neptunus (1995, 1999).

With the Netherlands National Baseball Team, Kemp appeared in 55 official international games between 1993 and 1997. With the Orange squad, he played in the Olympic Games in 1996 (USA), one World Championship, three European Championships, two Haarlem Baseball Weeks and two World Port Tournaments.
