(Story by Marco Stoovelaar) Starting Pitchers coming postseason-series Nederlands AMSTERDAM (Neth.) - Coming Thursday-evening (September 15), the final 3-game series will go underway in the Major League/First Division Pilot-Pool, which was introduced for the first time this season. Coming Saturday-afternoon (September 17), the best-of-seven Holland Series between HCAW and Curaçao Neptunus will continue with Game 4. The first three games were won by HCAW, meaning the Bussum-team is one victory away from capturing the Dutch Championship Title. In case HCAW wins the title, it will be the club's first Championship since 1998. HCAW only announced a starting pitcher for coming Saturday. Just as a week ago week, Neptunus did not announce or confirm its starters for the coming weekend. Last Tuesday-evening, two make-up games were played in the Major League/First Division Pilot-Pool. RCH Memorie Sieraden shutout Sparks Haarlem 7-0 and Quick Amersfoort completed a 3-game sweep against Twins Oosterhout-2 by winning 5-3 in a game that was halted after six innings due to weather and field-conditions. Quick Amersfoort shares first place in this Pool with UVV. Both teams have won eight of the twelve games they played. In the upcoming final series, these two teams will face each other. UVV will play at home on Thursday and Sunday, Quick is the home-team on Saturday. It is rumored that UVV might return to the highest league next season.
