Pilot-Pool: Same rainy scenario, one game cancelled, other halted

HAARLEM / AMERSFOORT (Neth.) -
Two days after two games rained out on Thursday-evening, the same scenario followed two days later.
On Saturday (September 17), only one game could be played as scheduled in the Major League/First Division Pilot-Pool.
Just as on Thursday, one game was cancelled, while another one was halted shortly after it had started.
Oh, and more rain is expected for Sunday when three games are scheduled in this Pool.
In Haarlem, the game between Sparks Haarlem and Twins Oosterhout-2 was cancelled in the morning, as the field had turned into a swimming pool after early and heavy rain-showers.
The game will be made up on Tuesday-evening (September 20) at the Pim Mulier Stadium in Haarlem, which is the site of DSS/Kinheim.
On Thursday, Sparks and Twins were the lone teams that were able to play.
Sparks then won with an 11-6 score.
In Amersfoort, Quick Amersfoort and UVV started their game, but it didn't take that long.
After a few minutes, the game had to be halted.
For UVV, lead-off hitter Malcolm Marlin flied out in the top of the first inning, then next batter Ryan Wheat walked.
Shortly after he was caught stealing, the game was suspended due to rain.
Moments later, the game was ended definitively, as the field had become unplayable.
Last Thursday, the first game between these two teams was halted after one inning was played.
That game will be made up coming Tuesday (September 20) in Vleuten.
Today's game will be made up coming Thursday (September 22) in Amersfoort.
In The Hague, Silicon Storks and RCH Memorie Sieraden were the only two teams that were able to play today.
Storks won with a 12-7 score.
On Thursday, the opener of this series also rained out and it will be made up coming Tuesday-evening (September 20) in Heemstede.
