Amsterdam Pirates got its lead-off hitter on base in each of the first three innings, but only one of them scored.
But the team scored twice in the first at bat and added a run in the third.
Therefter, Pirates was unable to take some more distance, before scoring an insurance run in the eighth.
Rachid Engelhardt accounted for all four Amsterdam-runs.
He batted in the first three runs, then scored the fourth one himself.
Delano Selassa led off the top of the first inning with a single, but was caught stealing.
However, team team would open the score with two outs.
With one out, Sharlon Schoop singled off of starter Dennis Burgersdijk, who then walked next batter Denzel Richardson.
The two runners advanced on a grounder by Sicnarf Loopstok, then both scored on a single by Rachid Engelhardt.
In the second inning, Rashid Gerard led off with a single, but would be left behind on second base.
In the top of the third, Denzel Richardson led off with a double.
He advanced to third base when Sicnarf Loopstok flied out, then scored on a grounder by Rachid Engelhardt.
In the next four innings, Pirates got two more runners in scoring position, but was uable to add a run.
With two outs in the fourth, Nicola Garbella singled and moved on a wild pitch, but was left behind on second base.
And in the sixth, Rashid Gerard singled with one out, then Garbella walked with two outs.
Dennis Burgersdijk then closed with his sixth strikeout.
Shairon Martis dominated on the mound for Amsterdam Pirates.
The former Major Leaguer allowed four HCAW-players to get into scoring position, but only one of them reached third base.
Trailing 2-0, HCAW got runners on second and third base with two outs in the bottom of the second inning.
Martis then walked lead-off hitter Jair van Borkulo, who was brought to second base via a sacrifice bunt by Jules Cremer.
He then became HCAW's lone runner on third base when Max Draijer singled.
After the latter had stolen second base, Martis followed with a strikeout, then a flyout ended the at bat.

In the bottom of the third inning, Jeandro Tromp doubled for HCAW with two outs, but also stranded.
From this moment on, Shairon Martis retired the next thirteen batters in a row, striking out four of them.
Pirates added an insurance run in the top of the eighth off of new pitcher Jasper Elfrink.
Despite getting the bases loaded with one out, the team scored only once.
Elfrink gave up a lead-off single to Rachid Engelhardt, who then stole second base.
A bunt-attempt by next batter Roelie Henrique to move Engelhardt was then caught by Elfrink.
However, Engelhardt then did reach third base after all moments later via a passed ball.
Next, Pirates got the bases loaded when Elfrink walked Rashid Gerard and pinch-hitter Kalian Sams.
The lefthander then also walked Nicola Garbella.
That brought in Engelhardt and lifted the lead to 4-0.
It also led to another pitching change and Bobbie Gnade took over.
With three runners on base, Delano Selassa hit a line drive, but that was caught by short stop Bob van der Meer, who then eliminated Sams at second base to complete an inning-ending double play.
In the bottom of the eighth, it was the Pirates-defense that turned a double play.
After having retired 13 consecutive batters and 17 of the last 18, Shairon Martis gave up a lead-off single to pinch-hitter Linoy Croes in the eighth.
Martis struckout next batter Julian Goins, then got a double play-grounder from Brendly Martina.
HCAW then got one final opportunity to do some scoring in the bottom of the ninth.
With one out, Jeandro Tromp singled, as did pinch-hitter Quintin de Cuba.
Shairon Martis followed with his ninth strikeout, then got a game-ending grounder from Jules Cremer.
In his nine innings, Martis threw only 106 pitches in his first complete game of the season.
