In today's game, UVV led 3-1 halfway the seventh inning, but the team ended up empty-handed, as Quick Amersfoort then rallied for four runs.
Quick collected only two basehits off of four pitchers, but got fourteen additional baserunners on walks.
Besides that, the UVV-defense committed four errors, which resulted in four unearned runs.
Quick Amersfoort opened the score in the bottom of the first inning off of starter Stefan Kuipers.
Alden Stacie led off with a walk, moved into scoring position via a sacrifice bunt by Emeron Lourens, advanced to third base on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice by Alex Madera.
Hereafter, Marvin Jakobus recorded the first basehit for Quick, but he later stranded on second base.
In the remainder of the game, Quick added only one more basehit.
In the next five at bats, Quick got seven baserunners, six of them on a walk, and left three runners behind in scoring position.

With one out in the fourth and with the score now at 1-1, Marvin Jakobus walked, then an error followed on a force play-grounder by Rodney Daal.
The two were left behind.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Quick trailed 3-1, but then got a runner on third base.
Jack Wagner led off with a walk, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Lucca Muller and advanced to third base on a wild pitch, but then was left behind.
Wagner is one of Quick's pitchers, but tonight, he was the designated hitter.
And in the sixth, Quick again got into scoring position.
With two outs, Pascal Zegwaard walked and a pitching change followed.
Dieudonne van Zoelen took over, walked Amar van Zwieten, but then closed with a strikeout.
In the meantime, UVV had turned the game around.
Trailing 1-0, UVV came alongside in the top of the third off of starter Jhan Rifaela.
The lefthander walked Etienne van Tielraden and Daan Jansen, then got the bases loaded when Malcolm Marlin singled.
But Rifaela would give up only one run.
First, he struckout the next batter, then got a force play-grounder from Daan Terstall, which led to the elimination of Marlin, but brought in Van Tielraden to tie the score.
Rifaela closed with another strikeout.
In the top of the fifth, UVV scored twice with two outs to take a 3-1 lead.
Etienne van Tielraden led off with a single, then was able to move to second base on a following outfield-error.
Next, he advanced to third base on a grounder by Daan Jansen.
However, moments later, Van Tielraden was eliminated at the plate trying to score on a grounder to second base by Malcolm Marlin.
Now with two outs, Ryan Wheat singled, which gave UVV runners at the corners.
After Wheat had stolen second base, Daan Terstall delivered a 2-run single that put UVV ahead.
In the top of the sixth, Stijn Bruins Slot took over the pitching for Quick.
With two outs in the sixth, he walked a batter and with one out in the seventh, he got a baserunner on an error.
Both runners stranded on first base.
And then, with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Quick came back and scored four unearned runs on only one basehit.
After Dieudonne van Zoelen walked the first two batters, Lucca Muller and Alden Stacie (his fourth walk in the game), Jack Silva was inserted as new pitcher for UVV.
He got a comeback-grounder from Emeron Lourens and forced out Muller at third base.
With one out, Stacie and Lourens advanced on a grounder by Alex Madera.
With first base open and two outs, a force play was set up by walking Marvin Jakobus intentionally.
Next batter Lars Visser indeed followed with a grounder, but that ended in a throwing error and both Stacie and Lourens scored, which tied the score at 3-3.
Both runs were credited to Van Zoelen.
Although Lourens reached base on Silva, his run transfered to Van Zoelen.
As a runner left behind by Van Zoelen was forced out on the grounder by Lourens, the transfer-rule (scoring rules) became into effect and so, the batter and thus the run he scored transfered to the first pitcher.
Moments later, Quick broke the 3-3 tie.
With Jakobus on third base and Visser on second base due to the error, Pascal Zegwaard delivered the second (and last) basehit for Quick.
That enabled both runners to score and gave Quick a 5-3 lead.
Thereafter, Quick got the bases loaded when Amar van Zwieten was hit by a pitch and Jack Wagner reached on an error.
But they were left behind all three, as Silva closed with a strikeout.
In the top of the eighth inning and now with a 5-3 lead, Stijn Bruins Slot returned to the mound for Quick.
As in the previous two innings he threw, Bruins Slot got a runner on first base (walk), this time with one out.
He also stranded on first base, as the righthander struckout the next two batters.
In the bottom of the eighth, Quick added two more insurance runs without collecting a basehit off of new pitcher Jordan Illis.
The former big leaguer began with a strikeout, but then walked Emeron Lourens and Alex Madera.
Illis and his predecessor Silva both made their first appearances for UVV in this Pool.
The two baserunners advanced on an error and with first base open, Marvin Jakobus received his second intentional walk.
But Illis then also walked Lars Visser, which led to an automatic run.
A grounder by Pascal Zegwaard produced the second run and raised the lead to 7-3.
Jasper Popken threw the top of the ninth for Quick Amersfoort in what was no more a save-situation due to the two runs scored in the bottom of the eighth.
It is a save-situation when a pitcher enters with a lead of no more than three runs.
There are two more save-situations, but these were not applicable at this moment.
Popken gave up a lead-off single to Etienne van Tielraden, followed with two strikeouts, then walked Ryan Wheat.
With two runners on base, Popken closed the game with his third strikeout.
