 Opener Hoofddorp Pioniers vs. Twins Oosterhout cancelled

 HOOFDDORP (Neth.) -
The opener of the 3-game series between Hoofddorp Pioniers and Twins Oosterhout, to be played on Thursday-evening (April 13), was cancelled in the afternoon.
There were a lot of surprise reactions, as it was a sunny afternoon with a clear blue sky.
Two weeks ago, under far less weather conditions and despite some heavy rain, six games could be played at the site in Hoofddorp during the Frank Maduro Tournament.
A week ago, Pioniers played at home twice in the Opening Series against Quick Amersfoort.
However, in the early hours of Thursday-morning, there had been some rainshowers in the area.
It was reported that the field at the Pioniers-complex was not in a good shape in the afternoon and so, the game had to be cancelled.
The game is re-scheduled for Friday-evening.
For Twins Oosterhout, tonight would be its first game of the season, as the team had no games scheduled in the Opening Weekend.
Pioniers then swept Quick Amersfoort.
