Coming weekend, the deciding game(s) will be played in the 40th Holland Series.
Game 6 is scheduled for Saturday (September 13) in Bussum.
When needed, Game 7 will be played on Sunday in Rotterdam.
The best-of-seven Holland Series opened two weeks ago.
HCAW defeated reigning champion Curaçao Neptunus 3-1 in 10 innings in the opener on Saturday in Rotterdam.
The next day, in Bussum, Neptunus won 4-1.
Lars Huijer threw all 10 innings for HCAW in Game 1, Shairon Martis went the distance for Neptunus on Sunday.
Last week, HCAW re-took the lead by winning Game 3 in Rotterdam 4-0.
This time, veteran righthander Dennis Burgersdijk threw a complete game for HCAW.
On Saturday in Bussum, Neptunus won only 1-0 in 10 innings to equal the Series again.
In the tenth inning, Yurdion Martie accounted for the lone run with a pinch-hit single.
Winning pitcher Tom de Blok became the second pitcher in this Series to throw a 10-inning complete game.
It was also the fourth game in a row that was won by the visiting team.
But that changed on Sunday in Rotterdam when home-playing Neptunus won Game 5 with a 6-4 score to take the lead for the first time.
Winning pitcher Shairon Martis threw his second complete game.
Last season, the two teams also faced each other in the Championship Final, as they did in 2022.
Last year, Neptunus swept HCAW, 4-0.
Overall, this is the eleventh time that these teams play against each other in the Final.
For the record, Neptunus is the recordholder with 20 Championship-titles.
HCAW was the Champion three times.
With the completion of the Holland Series, the 2025 big league-season will come to an end.
On Saturday, September 20, the European Championship will open in Borgerhout (Belgium), Senago (Italy, near Milan) and Rotterdam (Netherlands).
