Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem, Hotel Ambassador c.c. Terrasvogels and Gryphons opened the new softball-season on Saturday with two victories.
Reigning champion Alcmaria Victrix split with Centrals.
Tex Town Tigers vs. Oolders Omaco Sparks Haarlem
At Enschede, Sparks Haarlem won 12-3 and 13-1 against the young team of Tex Town Tigers.
Sparks Haarlem collected 23 basehits in the double-header, including two homeruns by Karin Tuk, who last season led the league in homeruns.
Karin had eight RBI's in today's games and hit a 3-run homerun in her first at bat of the season.
Virginie Anneveld collected five basehits and scored six runs.
Tex Town Tigers hit only five hits today.

At Haarlem, Terrasvogels won 5-3 and 5-4 against FysioExpert Olympia Haarlem.
Led by new Head Coach Marco Molleman, Terrasvogels collected 17 basehits, including 11 off of Lindsey Meadows, the new pitching ace of Olympia Haarlem.
She went the distance in the opener, then pitched 2 1/3 inning in Game 2.
Ginger de Weert was the winning pitcher in both games.

Trailing 2-0, Terrasvogels tied the score in the opener in the fourth inning on a 2-run double by Anouk van den Heuvel.

In Game 2, Terrasvogels initially trailed again, but then took a 5-1 lead.
In the 7th inning, Dominique Sprengers hit a 2-run homerun for Olympia.
