Dutch Team comes from behind to win vs. Venezuela

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (USA) -
The Netherlands National Softball Team trailed 3-0 against Venezuela on Thursday (July 7) on Day 3 of the eleventh edition of the World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, but turned the game its way and won 4-3 in eight innings.
In the first inning, Yurubi Alicart hit a 2-run homerun for Venezuela off of starter Rebecca Soumeru, then added a runscoring single in the fifth inning to make it 3-0.
The Orange squad was held scoreless, but had a spectacular seventh inning.
Rookie Brenda Beers and Shareday Christina both singled and moved on a grounder.
Hereafter, Britt Vonk drove the ball over the fence for a 3-run homerun that tied the score!
In the top of the eighth inning, tie-break runner Chantal Versluis moved to third base on an one-out single by Virginie Anneveld, then scored on a force play-grounder by Mariëlle Vleugels.
In the bottom of the eighth, Britt Vonk eliminated the Venezuelan tie-break runner at the plate in a crucial play to secure the minimal lead.
