   Dutch Under-22 Team remains unbeaten in preliminary round

 PARDUBICE (Czech Republic) -
The Netherlands Under-22 Softball Team registered another big victory on Friday-morning (July 8), winning 16-1 in four innings against Ukraine to close the preliminary round of the European Under-22 Championship in Pardubice.
With the win, the Orange squad remained unbeaten and now wil'meet Russia in the semi-final on Friday-evening.
Russia finished in second place, winning six of its seven games.

The winner of the semi-final will automatically qualify for the all-deciding final on Saturday.
The losing team meets the winner of the other semi-final between Slovakia and the Czech Republic to decide who will be the second finalist.
In the game against Ukraine, the Dutch Team had two big rallies, scoring seven runs in the third and in the fourth inning.
The Orange squad collected 14 basehits, including four (two doubles) by Wies Ligtvoet, who also scored three runs and batted in three.
Eva van Knegsel batted in four runs and scored twice.
Daniëlle ten Donkelaar started and gave up three hits in three innings, then Manon van Alebeek completed the game by pitching the fourth inning.
After having scored twice in the first inning, seven runs were added in the third at bat.
A runscoring wild pitch was then followed by an RBI-double by Rachel van Veen, then Eva van Knegsel added a 2-run single.
An error and singles by Wies Ligtvoet and Manoa Weijgertse then completed the rally.
Ukraine then scored its lone run in tthird, but the Dutch Team rallied again for seven runs in the fourth.
This time on three basehits and two errors.
Highlights in the inning were another 2-run single by Eva van Knegsel and a 2-run double by Wies Ligtvoet.
