HCAW and coaches Dirksen, Bomba separate
Nederlands
BUSSUM (Neth.) - Mr. Cocker HCAW on Thursday announced that coaches Rudy Dirksen and Hubert Bomba will not return for the 2013 season. This year, Dirksen was in his first season as Head Coach of the team with Bomba as his assistant. In 2011, Dirksen was the Head Coach of HCAW's Rookie Team.

In his first year at the helm of the Bussum-club, Dirksen led the team to only eight victories in the regular season. The team finished in sixth place with an 8-34 record, but at one moment was a contender to finish in last place. In the following Play-Downs, HCAW did somewhat better, winning six of the nine games played to finish in a tie for first place with UVV. As HCAW had won two of its three games played against UVV, it was awarded first place of the Play-Downs and secured a spot in next years big league.

HCAW announced that the search for a successor has started.

HCAW is the fifth of the eight big league-teams to change coaches. During the Play-Offs, Corendon Kinheim broke with Head Coach Eelco Jansen and his assistant Ralph Milliard. Jansen's assistant Hans Lemmink took over and led the team to the Dutch championship. It has not yet been announced whether Lemmink will be the Head Coach in the new season.

UVV's Frank Koene announced a week before the end of the season that he will not return as Head Coach of the team.

Last week, DOOR Neptunus named Evert-Jan 't Hoen and Jeroen Sluijter to its new coaching staff, replacing Wim Martinus and Adonis Kemp. Jan Collins, who this season was the Head Coach, will return to the coaching staff, but it has yet to be announced who will do what in the new staff.

In the weekend, L&D Amsterdam Pirates announced that Sidney de Jong, who retired as player, will be the new Head Coach in 2013, succeeding Charles Urbanus, who announced that he would step down after the season a few weeks earlier. De Jong will be assisted by Percy Isenia and Rob Cordemans, who both will continue to play for Pirates.
