On a rainy Thursday-evening, three games started, two were interrupted by rain, but completed, one was halted and one never started.
Four days after qualifying for the European Cup Final Four, league-leader L&D Amsterdam Pirates won big 15-2 vs. AamigoO ADO Lakers on 15 basehits.
The reigning champion opened the score with three runs in the first at bat, then added a run in the next at bat and three more in the fourth when Wesley Connor hit a 3-run homerun.
In the meantime, ADO Lakers had scored a run in the third and fourth at bat.
Pirates then struck with eight runs in the fifth inning off of new pitcher Rick van der Post, who had taken over in the previous at bat.
Van der Post walked three batters, hit two and gave up five basehits, but he also registered two strikeouts, but coming against Wesley Connor, who singled, doubled and homered in his first three at bats.
In the bottom of the second inning, the game was delayed by rain for 34 minutes, but then could be completed thereafter.
Amsterdam Pirates committed two errors tonight for the first time since May 3.
Overall, it was only the fifth time that team team committed two (or more) errors in one game this season.
The game between Corendon Kinheim and Mr. Cocker HCAW was halted by rain for 35 minutes before the bottom of the second inning started, but in the end, Kinheim won 5-1.
When the game resumed, Kinheim immediately took an 1-0 lead on an error.
Two runs were added in the fifth when HCAW committed two more errors.
A single by Ramiro Balentina led two two runs in the seventh and lifted the lead to 5-0.
Kinheim-starter David Bergman struckout 11 batters and was relieved in the eighth inning by Pim Walsma, who gave up a 2-out homerun to Kody Hightower, that accounted for HCAW's lone run.
At Vleuten, UVV took an 1-0 lead vs. DOOR Neptunus in the second inning on a single by Mitchel Koot, but in the middle of the third inning, the game was halted because of rain and then canceled.
The match-up between Sparta-Feyenoord and Vaessen Pioniers in Rotterdam never started due to rain.
Both games were re-scheduled for Friday, June 8.
