ADO Lakers adds former pro to roster

AamigoO ADO Lakers has added a former professional player to its active roster.
The team from The Hague expanded its roster with Rudy van Heydoorn, a catcher/outfielder, who recently was released by the Seattle Mariners-organisation.
The Dominican-born Van Heydoorn has a Dutch passport and joined his new team for practice on Tuesday.
The former pro has been registered with the Dutch Association, but it is not clear yet whether he will be eligible already to play on Thursday-evening, but he probably will be in the weekend.
Rudy van Heydoorn, who was born in Santo Domingo, and turns 23 next week (April 17), made his professional debut in 2007 when he played in 45 games for the Rookie League-team of the Seattle Mariners in the Dominican Summer League.
In his first season, he batted .194 with 15 runs and 15 RBI's.
A year later, Van Heydoorn again in the Dominican Summer League, this time hitting .266 in 53 games with 37 runs scores, seven homeruns and 35 RBI's.
In 2009, he played for two other Rookie League-teams of the Mariners, one in the Arizona League, another in the Appalachian League.
Combined, he played in 41 games that year, hitting only .123.
The next year, he was back in the Dominican Republic, played in 61 games and batted .305, scoring 31 runs, having 26 RBI's and hitting seven homeruns.
Last year, he promoted to Short Season Single-A and Single-A Advanced, playing for two teams.
He played in only 27 games combined and batted .212.
In his five minor league-seasons, Van Heydoorn played his most games at 3rd base, but also was used as 1st baseman, short stop and catcher.
