Pirates, Neptunus extend winning streaks

League-leaders L&D Amsterdam Pirates and DOOR Neptunus extended their winning streaks on Saturday, while UVV moved a bit closer to fifth place and Mr. Cocker HCAW won twice in Rotterdam.
Amsterdam won 7-5 vs. Vaessen Pioniers and Neptunus won 6-5 in the last at bat vs. Corendon Kinheim.
UVV defeated AamigoO ADO Lakers 14-6 and HCAW first completed a game vs. Sparta-Feyenoord successfully with a 7-6 score, then won the regularly scheduled game against the Rotterdam-squad 7-4.

At Amsterdam, L&D Amsterdam Pirates lead 4-1 after six innings vs. Vaessen Pioniers, then broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth inning to win 7-5 and extend its winning streak to six games.
Pioniers opened the score in the third inning, then Pirates came alongside in the fifth and took a 4-1 lead in the sixth.
In this at bat, Roelie Henrique singled with one out, then stole second base and scored when Sidney de Jong followed with a triple.
A single by Percy Isenia and a double by Bas de Jong then made it 4-1.
In the seventh inning, both teams scored once.
For Pioniers, Michael Duursma scored.
Duursma, who played in his 500th big league-game today, was on third base with the bases loaded when an infield-fly by Jourick Blanco wasn't caught.
But Pioniers left the bases loaded, then saw Pirates also score in its seventh at bat.
Jesse Aussems then scored all the way from first base when a fly by Wesley Connor was missed in the outfield.
Pioniers tied the score in the top of eighth inning off Nick Stuifbergen, who had taken over the pitching the inning before.
After two walks, a double play followed, but then Michael Duursma singled in a run and his brother Mark Duursma added a 2-run double to make it a 5-5 score.
Jurrian Koks then took over the pitching, walked and hit a batter to load the bases, but then followed with a strikeout.
In the home half of the eighth, Amsterdam re-took the lead.
Jean-Paul Gulinck, who had come on in relief in the previous at bat, gave up a single to Roelie Henrique and walked Sidney de Jong, then was relieved by Bayron Cornelissen, who saw the being loaded when Percy Isenia singled.
After a strikeout, he walked Kenny Berkenbosch to bring in a run and another run followed on a grounder by Rashid Gerard that gave Pirates a 7-5 lead.
Pioniers outhit Pirates, 13-7, including four by Zerzinho Croes, who is the new lead-off hitter of the Hoofddorp-squad since two weeks.

Corendon Kinheim vs. DOOR Neptunus, 5-6
At Haarlem, like Pirates, DOOR Neptunus held an apparent comfortable 5-0 lead in the fifth, but in the end decided the game in the last at bat vs. Corendon Kinheim, winning 6-5 and extending its winning streak to 10 games.
An error and back-to-back doubles by Shaldimar Daantji (2-run) and Adrian Anthony gave Neptunus a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning.
A fifth run was then added in the fifth at bat when Rafaël Jozefa scored on a 2-out single by Rien Vernooij, who was then thrown out at second base when he tried to stretch it into a double.
Kinheim got one run back in its fifth on a grounder by Dirk van 't Klooster, then rallied for three runs in the sixth inning.
Starter Bobby Carrington walked Quintin de Cuba, Niels van Weert and Rachid Engelhardt, then was relieved (with one out) by Kevin van Veen.
But the new pitcher hit both Remco Draijer and René Cremer with a pitch and walked Mervin Gario to bring in three runs.
Jorian van Acker took over as pitcher and was supported with a double play, but Kinheim had narrowed the deficit to 5-4.
In the eighth inning, Kinheim tied the score off closer Dushan Ruzic.
With one out, the bases got loaded when Rachid Engelhardt struck out, but reached on a wild pitch, Remco Draijer was hit by a pitch and René Cremer singled.
With two outs, Ruzic hit Dirk van 't Klooster to bring in the tying run, but then Kinheim left the bases loaded.
Neptunus then decided the game in the top of the ninth inning.
With two outs, Rafaël Jozefa, who last season played for Kinheim, then homered to make it 6-5.

UVV vs. AamigoO ADO Lakers, 14-6
At Vleuten, UVV broke a 4-4 tie with a 4-run rally in the fourth and added five runs in the eighth to win 14-6 vs. AamigoO ADO Lakers.
UVV started well by scoring four runs in the opening at bat, thanks to a sac-fly by Giovanni Samboe, an error and a 2-run single by Mitchel Koot.
But ADO Lakers came alongside in the third inning when Phil Ortez singled in a run and Rudy van Heydoorn followed with a 3-run homerun.
UVV reacted with another 4-run rally with two outs in the fourth inning.
First, a single by Samboe renewed UVV's lead.
After Reggie Bomberg took over from rookie starter Ricky Voorn, he got the bases loaded then brought in a run when he walked Shurty Tremus and gave up two more runs on a single by Koot.
In the sixth, both teams scored, then ADO added another run in the seventh inning when Phil Ortez homered with one out.
But UVV answered with a 5-run rally in the eighth to take more distance.
In the inning, Rick van der Post took over the pitching for Bomberg with one out and two runners on base.
The bases got loaded, then Jeff Delfina got hit by a pitch to bring in a run and a triple by Austin Weymouth then cleared the bases and he went on to score himself on a single by Stijn van der Meer.

Sparta-Feyenoord vs. Mr. Cocker HCAW, 6-7 & 4-7
At Rotterdam, Mr. Cocker HCAW was successful twice today vs. Sparta-Feyenoord, winning 7-6 and 7-4.
On April 29, the game between Sparta-Feyenoord and HCAW was halted by the umpires after completion of the top of the seventh inning due to remarks from spectators.
The game was then suspended when 'Sparta-Feyenoord didn't comply to instructions of the umpires', as was reported then.
The Dutch Federation reviewed the status of the game through written reports and after several talks.
It was reported that it has been decided that some 20 minutes after stopping the game, there was no 'threatening situation' anymore and therefore, 'both teams had no blame for stopping the game', meaning it had to be completed.
And so, the game was picked up in the bottom of the seventh inning with HCAW leading 6-3.
Several changes were made to the original line-up.
On Sparta-Feyenoord's site that included Siegert Flaneur, who no longer is with the club, as he now is playing for Almere Magpies in the 'Overgangsklasse'.
In the eighth inning, HCAW added a run on an error, but then Sparta-Feyenoord answered with three runs in the home of the ninth inning on a double by Edison Bito and a 2-run single by Suri Betrian.
But Betrian was eliminated trying to advance to second base, then a flyout and groundout ended the game.
In the next game, HCAW took an early lead, scoring twice in the first inning on a single by Juriën Overman and a grounder by Dylan de Mello.
Another run was added in the third on an error.
Sparta-Feyenoord then again staged a strong comeback and tied the score.
In the third, two runs were scored when Michiel Ruiter reached on a throwing error with two outs.
And two more runs followed in the fourth on a double by Jochem Pronk and a single by Emerson Paula.
In the sixth, HCAW re-took the lead, thanks to a 2-run triple by Linoy Croes that made it 5-4, then added two more runs in the eighth.
A force play-grounder by Juriën Overman and a single by Randy Reiph then increased the lead to 7-4.
