Mr. Cocker HCAW vs. DOOR Neptunus
At Bussum, Mr. Cocker HCAW trailed 3-1, but went on to win 5-4 vs. DOOR Neptunus.
For HCAW, this was its first win against Neptunus since June 30, 2007.
Five years ago, HCAW won 4-3 in eleven innings in Rotterdam.
The only HCAW-player who was with the team in both wins was catcher Juriën Overman.
Four Neptunus-players in tonight's game also played for the squad in 2007, being Jeffrey Arends, Benjamin Dille, Lennart Koster and Raily Legito.
The win in 2007 came in the coaching debut of Jurjan Koenen, who filled in as Head Coach for Roy Berrevoets, who was suspended.
There was another person on the field tonight, who also was active in the 2007 game, being umpire Johan Brandsma.
Five years ago, he was at third base, tonight, he was behind the plate.
With the win, HCAW ended a 26-game losing streak vs. Neptunus.
Both teams scored once in the first inning.
Neptunus on a double by Raily Legito, HCAW on a double by Randy Reiph.
Neptunus then took a 3-1 lead by scoring twice in the second at bat off Sander Helmendach.

Mourik Huijser was then hit by a pitch and Shaldimar Daantji followed with a single to make it 3-1 in favor of Neptunus.
The lead was shortlived, as HCAW answered with three runs with two outs in the third inning.
The bases then got loaded when Linoy Croes singled and both Kody Hightower and Randy Reiph walked.
Dylan de Mello then followed with a single to bring in two runs and tie the score.
An error on a grounder by Kevin Gerard then gave HCAW a 4-3 lead.
HCAW added a run in the fifth inning.
With two outs, Neptunus-starter Tim Roodenburg gave up a double to Dylan de Mello, who then scored on another defensive error by Neptunus on a grounder by Kevin Gerard, which also led to a pitching change.
Neptunus then did something back in the seventh inning.
Shaldimar Daantji led off with a walk and advanced on a passed ball.
With one out, he scored when Rafaël Jozefa singled.
Hereafter, Leon Elshof took over the pitching, struckout Raily Legito, walked Jeffrey Arends, but then saw Lennart Koster groundout to strand two runners.
In the eighth inning, Rien Vernooij led off with a single for Neptunus, moved on a sac-bunt by Benjamin Dille, then was waved home trying to score on a pinch-hit single by Adrian Anthony, but he was thrown out at the plate on a throw by rookie rightfielder Jim Froberg.

But ADO failed to hold onto the lead, as Pioniers came alongside in the home of the eighth at bat.
ADO-starter Ricky Voorn, who had done a great job so far, walked lead-off hitter Mark Duursma and maybe this batter was one too many for the rookie.
Voorn was relieved by Ludwin Obispo, who then gave up a single to Michael Pluijmers, which was followed by an outfield-error that moved the two runners.
Next, Zerzinho Croes singled to bring in Duursma and Pluijmers to tie the score.
