Mr. Cocker HCAW vs. DOOR Neptunus
At Bussum, Mr. Cocker HCAW trailed 3-1, but went on to win 5-4 vs. DOOR Neptunus. For HCAW, this was its first win against Neptunus since June 30, 2007. Five years ago, HCAW won 4-3 in eleven innings in Rotterdam. The only HCAW-player who was with the team in both wins was catcher JuriŽn Overman. Four Neptunus-players in tonight's game also played for the squad in 2007, being Jeffrey Arends, Benjamin Dille, Lennart Koster and Raily Legito. The win in 2007 came in the coaching debut of Jurjan Koenen, who filled in as Head Coach for Roy Berrevoets, who was suspended. There was another person on the field tonight, who also was active in the 2007 game, being umpire Johan Brandsma. Five years ago, he was at third base, tonight, he was behind the plate. With the win, HCAW ended a 26-game losing streak vs. Neptunus.

Both teams scored once in the first inning. Neptunus on a double by Raily Legito, HCAW on a double by Randy Reiph.

Neptunus then took a 3-1 lead by scoring twice in the second at bat off Sander Helmendach. Rien Vernooij led off with a walk and scored on a double by Benjamin Dille. Mourik Huijser was then hit by a pitch and Shaldimar Daantji followed with a single to make it 3-1 in favor of Neptunus.

The lead was shortlived, as HCAW answered with three runs with two outs in the third inning. The bases then got loaded when Linoy Croes singled and both Kody Hightower and Randy Reiph walked. Dylan de Mello then followed with a single to bring in two runs and tie the score. An error on a grounder by Kevin Gerard then gave HCAW a 4-3 lead.

HCAW added a run in the fifth inning. With two outs, Neptunus-starter Tim Roodenburg gave up a double to Dylan de Mello, who then scored on another defensive error by Neptunus on a grounder by Kevin Gerard, which also led to a pitching change.

Neptunus then did something back in the seventh inning. Shaldimar Daantji led off with a walk and advanced on a passed ball. With one out, he scored when RafaŽl Jozefa singled. Hereafter, Leon Elshof took over the pitching, struckout Raily Legito, walked Jeffrey Arends, but then saw Lennart Koster groundout to strand two runners.

In the eighth inning, Rien Vernooij led off with a single for Neptunus, moved on a sac-bunt by Benjamin Dille, then was waved home trying to score on a pinch-hit single by Adrian Anthony, but he was thrown out at the plate on a throw by rookie rightfielder Jim Froberg. A flyout ended the inning. In the ninth, Elshof retired the side to earn his first big league-save.

L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. Corendon Kinheim
At Amsterdam, Rob Cordemans threw eight more scoreless innings and won his seventh game, as L&D Amsterdam Pirates win 4-2 vs. Corendon Kinheim. Cordemans now needs only one victory to reach the 150-mark and tie Bart Volkerijk and needs only nine strikeouts to reach 1600.

After three scoreless innings, Amsterdam opened the score off David Bergman in the fourth at bat when Kenny Berkenbosch homered with two outs. The home team doubled its lead in the sixth inning. Sidney de Jong led off with a walk and moved to third on an one-out double by Kenny Berkenbosch. De Jong then scored when a throwing error followed on a foul-out.

Amsterdam took more distance by scoring two runs in the eighth inning. With one out, Percy Isenia singled, which led to a pitching change. David Bergman was relieved by Steven van Groningen, but he was greeted with a single by Kenny Berkenbosch, who was 3-for-4. After the two runners advanced on a wild pitch, the bases got loaded when Vince Rooi walked. Next, Bas de Jong was hit by a pitch which brought in a run and a grounder by Bas Nooij then made it 4-0.

Kinheim then scored its two runs in the ninth inning off closer Jurrian Koks. Mervin Gario led off with a single and Dirk van 't Klooster followed with a double. Gario then scored on a grounder by Ramiro Balentina and a single by Quintin de Cuba then made it 4-2. Vaessen Pioniers vs. AamigoO ADO Lakers
At Hoofddorp, Vaessen Pioniers trailed 3-1 against AamigoO ADO Lakers in the eighth inning, then came alongside and won 4-3 in the ninth inning.

ADO Lakers opened the score in the first inning off starter Mika de Lincel. With one out, Ludwin Obispo doubled and advanced on a wild pitch, then scored on a foul-sac-fly by Phil Ortez. Facing rookie Ricky Voorn, Pioniers came alongside in the second inning. With one out, Norbert Lokhorst walked, moved on a passed ball and scored when Mark Duursma followed with a single, but Pioniers left the bases loaded.

Both teams then were held scoreless in the next four innings. ADO left three runners in these at bats, Pioniers stranded seven, including the bases loaded again in the fourth and fifth inning. So, it was only a question of time for ADO Lakers to score after Pioniers stranded so much runners. And that indeed happened in the seventh inning when Rudy van Heydoorn led off with a homerun off Mika de Lincel, who hit next batter Anthony Hooi with a pitch and was relieved by Swen Huijer. Three outs then followed, leaving Hooi at third base.

ADO added another run in the eighth inning off Huijer. Gregory Hassell led off with a single and stole second with one out. He then stole third base with two outs and scored when a throwing error followed.

But ADO failed to hold onto the lead, as Pioniers came alongside in the home of the eighth at bat. ADO-starter Ricky Voorn, who had done a great job so far, walked lead-off hitter Mark Duursma and maybe this batter was one too many for the rookie. Voorn was relieved by Ludwin Obispo, who then gave up a single to Michael Pluijmers, which was followed by an outfield-error that moved the two runners. Next, Zerzinho Croes singled to bring in Duursma and Pluijmers to tie the score. A groundout and double play followed, but it was a complete new ballgame.

Jean-Paul Gulinck then took over the pitching for Pioniers in the ninth and retired the side. In the home of the ninth, Obispo gave up a lead-off single to DŤ Flanegin, who then advanced on a sac-bunt by Mark-Jan Moorman. Hereafter, Norbert Lokhorst walked and Mark Duursma followed with a single to give Pioniers a 4-3 victory.

UVV scored twice in the first inning off starter Reynaldo Sarmiento Claro to take an early lead. Austin Weymouth led off with a walk, then moved to third base when Danny Rombley doubled with one out. A wild pitch then gave UVV its first run and a following single by Giovannie Samboe made it 2-0.

Two runs were added in the third. Stijn van der Meer led off with a single, stole second base, moved on a wild pitch and scored on another double by Rombley, who later scored himself on an error.

In the home of the third, Sparta-Feyenoord scored their only two runs off Jurjen van Zijl. With one out, Suri Betrian and Kevin van Nederpelt singled, then both scored on a double by Emerson Paulo, but the inning ended with two strikeouts.

UVV then started to take more distance in the fifth inning when two more runs were scored on a force play-grounder by Mitchel Koot and a grounder by Brian Biezen. UVV was then held scoreless in the next two at bats, but scored three runs in the eighth with two outs. Jeff Delfina then walked and Austin Weymouth singled, which led to an outfield-error and a run. Jurandy Girigori then took over the pitching, started with a wild pitch, hit Stijn van der Meer with a pitch and loaded the bases by walking Danny Rombley. Hereafter, Girigori also walked pinch-hitter Lindell Finsy and Ryan Murphy to bring in the next two runs.

In the ninth, UVV rallied for five runs (again with two outs) to make it 12-2. Jirka Bliek and Austin Weymouth walked, then Stijn van der Meer and Danny Rombley both singled in a run. Quinn Tramm then became the new pitcher for Sparta-Feyenoord, but he saw a runscoring-error being committed on a grounder by Lindell Finsy and then gave up a 2-run single to Ryan Murphy that made it 12-2.
