ADO Lakers adjusts rotation due to suspension
Nederlands
THE HAGUE (Neth.) - As expected, Head Coach Dave Daniels had to adjust his rotation of starting pitchers for the upcoming series against L&D Amsterdam Pirates, as one of his starters was handed a suspension on Thursday-evening.

Righthander Ibrahim Redan was to be the starting pitcher on Thursday-evening in the opener against Amsterdam, but that game was cancelled due to an unplayable field because of rain earlier in the day. Redan's start was moved to Saturday, but also on Thursday-evening, his case was being reviewed after his ejection on April 7 in a road game at Mr. Cocker HCAW. In that match-up, Redan hit batter Randy Reiph, leading to an exchange of words and triggering a bench clearing. Both were ejected by the umpires for 'provocative behaviour' in this situation. Later in the game, ADO's Gregory Hassell also was ejected for insulting the umpire and that case also was handled on Thursday-evening.

Redan received a 3-game suspension, meaning he will not be available for the upcoming 3-game series against Amsterdam. Hassell also was suspended for three games for the insult.

As Redan is not eligible to pitch, Daniels moved RHP Reggie Bomberg from Tuesday-evening's start to Saturday in Game 1, sticks with American Thomas Macy in Game 2 on Sunday and probably will go with rookie lefthander Wimsley van Heijningen on Tuesday. Van Heijningen has made one appearance so far, pitching 1 2/3 inning in relief of the season's opener against HCAW.

By the way, the case of HCAW's Randy Reiph also was handled on Thursday. After his ejection on April 7, he also was ejected the next day for uncontrolled baserunning. Reiph was handed a premature 4-game suspension on April 11, which he has sit out. The commission that handled penalties today (Friday, April 20) announced and published that he was given a 3-game suspension for his part on April 7. But as he already has sit out four games, his initial 4-game suspension for April 8 was lowered to three games, so HCAW has to without him a little longer.
