Neptunus one-runs ADO Lakers on rainy day
Nederlands
ROTTERDAM / AMSTERDAM / HAARLEM / VLEUTEN (Neth.) - On a very rainy Sunday, three of the four games rained out. The fourth started one hour later and ended in a 2-1 win for DOOR Neptunus vs. AamigoO ADO Lakers.

The game between L&D Amsterdam Pirates and Mr. Cocker HCAW was re-scheduled for Monday-evening. The other two games that rained out, Corendon Kinheim vs. Sparta-Feyenoord and UVV vs. Vaessen Pioniers, were re-scheduled for Tuesday-evening. On Tuesday-evening, Amsterdam will play again as it meets Neptunus in an already scheduled make-up game. For all games, starting pitchers have been named, except for Monday-evening's game of Amsterdam. RHP Rob Cordemans already was announced for Tuesday's game and it was confirmed that his assignment will not change. Originally, RHP Jos de Jong was the scheduled starter for Sunday's rained out game, but in the evening, it wasn't clear yet whether he also will start Monday's game.

At Rotterdam, Neptunus was outhit for the second day in a row by ADO Lakers, which again turned out to be a tough opponent. Neptunus hit only two basehits and scored two unearned runs to win 2-1 and so Diegomar Markwell became the first pitcher this season to register his tenth victory. The lefthander is 10-0 and won all his starts, while his eleventh win was annulled, as it came in the opening game of the season vs. Sparta-Feyenoord, which was declared unvalid.

In the second inning, Benjamin Dille reached on an error with one out and went on to score on a basesloaded walk for Rafaël Jozefa, but three runners were left behind.

A single by Evan Porter tied the score in the fourth inning, then Neptunus left the bases loaded again in the sixth inning.

In the seventh inning, Neptunus re-took the lead. With two outs, Mike Bazuin reached on an error, then another error on a grounder by Benjamin Dille enabled him to score. But Neptunus also left the bases loaded again for the third time. In total, Neptunus stranded 13 runners.

In the ninth, ADO got its first two batters on base, but then a double play followed and in the end, a runner was left behind on third base.
