The Hawks ties series; 5th game to be decisive
Nederlands
CAPELLE a/d IJSSEL (Neth.) - The Hawks shutout Sparta-Feyenoord 2-0 on Friday-evening to set up a fifth and deciding game in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off, which will be played on Saturday in Rotterdam.

At the site of Euro Stars, The Hawks-pitching held Sparta-Feyenoord to only two basehits after the game started 30 minutes later due to a rain-delay. Pitcher Enoch Deaton went the distance, struckout nine batters and walked two. He gave up his first basehit in the fifth inning when Reangelo Castillo led off with a single, but he was caught stealing. In the eighth, Churandy La Cruz led off with a double, accounting for the second hit and he became only the second (and last) player of Sparta-Feyenoord to reach second base in this game.

The Hawks faced veteran pitcher Elton Koeiman and was productive from the beginning. After leaving two runners in the first inning, the home team opened the score in the second at bat. Berry van Donselaar then doubled with one out, advanced on a single by Thomas Soederhuijsen and scored when the latter was forced out on a grounder by Joris Naber.

The Hawks doubled its lead in the fifth inning. With one out, Joris Naber reached on an error, then moved on a bunt-single and another error and scored the second run on a single by Steven Wharwood. But The Hawks also left the bases loaded in this at bat. It didn't harm the team, as Deaton pitched a fine game and completed the shutout.
