In Scottsdale, at the Spring Training-site of the San Francisco Giants, the Dutch Team opened the score in the first inning when Randolph Oduber led off with a single and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Kalian Sams.

Two runs were added in the third at bat. Sams then walked with one out, but was forced out on a grounder by Curt Smith. Next, Dashenko Ricardo followed with a 2-run homerun to make it 3-0.

In the fourth inning, Danny Rombley doubled with one out, but stranded, as were two runners in the fifth inning.

The Dutch Team, which hit 11 basehits, then broke open the game with a 3-run rally in the sixth inning. With one out, the team got the bases loaded with Danny Arribas (walk), Dwayne Kemp (fielder's choice) and Hainley Statia (walk) occupying the bases. A run was then scored on a grounder by Michael Duursma and Kalian Sams followed with a 2-run triple that lifted the score to 6-0.

Six batters got a free pass to first base, three of them with a walk, the other three after being hit by a pitch. The Pumas, who collected eight basehits, scored their lone run in the ninth inning.
